You made a small mistake at 1:00 "prískoky" are a technique of advancing where one half (of unit, squad, buddy team) would cover while the other half was advancing and then the roles swapped. To my knowledge it's still used to this day in both Slovak and Czech army. I understand why you made that mistake because "skok" is actually a jump and our language is very different to english, especially its old form. Just another tiny nitpick: at 1:07 there should be ˇ in "ťažko"

Old polish joke: A polish engineer under the Warsaw pact had to build a bridge for the Soviets that could hold more than 100 tons, while using as few resources as possible. When the bridge was finished, his superior asks him: - "How are you we going to test whether the bridge works?" - "It's simple, I'm going to send 1000 Soviet troops across it with tanks and trucks." - "What if the bridge breaks?" - "You mean, the best case scenario?"

Clarification of meaning: A soldier never has it easy, especially for the firs 700 days - That means for the entire duration of the compuslory military service which was 2 years long for every healthy man, unless you were a college student, then it would be only 1 year long. And if you absolved "Vojenská katedra" (similar to Reserve Officers Training Corps) then you would get a military rank higher than normal compulsory service soldiers. If yout recieved the Blue book from the military comision based on your health, then you didn't have to serve in the military.

Great video,but I think I might've found a slight mistake in the translation. I'd like a slovak brother to voice his opinion here,but I don't think "prískoky" should be translated as "(parachute) jumping". In czech the word "přískok" describes a certain type of movement used by soldiers. It's basically a few seconds of running (or long leaps/jumping---> -skok) followed by assuming a prone position and providing cover for the others, then repeating it again until everyone gets to the desired point. Considering there's the infantry training part, I'm convinced this is what was meant rather than plain and simple jumping or parachute jumping (back in the day being a paratrooper was considered prestigious, paratroopers enjoyed a similar status to the russian VDV)

@xistgenosen14192 жыл бұрын
A republic under the yoke of capitalism?The referendum as a holding force under capitalism?Sorry for the irony, I once read Russell Ackoff "Beyond socialism and capitalism" very much resembles him in the form of content.Of course, all these fixes are good, the question is who will implement this plan in the current conditions, as if it would be beneficial to them, or will the ruling elite suddenly decide to give up power just like that?And Czechoslovakia, in my memory, was formed under successful capitalism.
