The way I see it is it’s Fantastic that we have players clubs are willing to pay £50-70m for, it’s how we have to deal and monchi is good at this. We will make money and move up. Made up Philogene is back gutted he left he’ll play for us this season no doubt.

£70M is a good deal for us and would allow us to go shopping for some big players. Max Beier for £25M to replace him. Ivan Toney for £50M and we still have funds for a big midfielder... Gouda who we have been linked with earlier looked a decent prospect and Yilman another Turkish player looked like a fast strong runner. Building a squad on our budget to compete for a champions league spot and compete in the champions league is gonna take sacrifices.

💯 On Beire and Gruda. You know ball (hate that term but if the shoe fits). I'd rather the big ticket item be Goncalves. He can slot in for Dougie and cover LW. Yilmaz may be 1 too many if We got the others in. He isn't young at 24 and his stats in Turkey aren't great outside of defensive actions and aerial duels. I'd rather sure up RB for that money and that profile. If it were another forward We wanted En Nesyri should be the guy. I don't know how he hasn't moved already.

One reason he wants bidace is because he is English and he needs home grown players to fill the criteria for champions league football

We sell Philogene for peanuts to Hull with apparently no sell on clause, just a right to match clause. I don't understand that. So now we had to match other offers to not lose out financially. I don't get it.

We were able to match any agreed fee and then get 30% off so he's going to cost £12.5m we got £5m for him and haven't had to pay his wages for what has become a season long loan. We've minimised the damage for a player that wanted to leave for minutes. That £5m was probably needed and no doubt was integral to us being able to get Rogers in January. In any case, if We ignore the fact he was a Villa player previously, We'd all be happy signing him at this fee.

We have a 30% sell on clause , which means if we match an offer of 18 million the deal costs villa 12.6 million , plus the 5 million we got for him last summer went straight on our books for FFP

If we lose Luiz and Diaby in the same window would be very disappointing. We would need to sign 2 or 3 world class players to push forward otherwise the squad strength will drop going into a CL season. A load of kids can't replace the experienced players.

But neither of those are world class & we can easily push on without both of those with the signings we’ve already made, I’m really excited with Philogene’s return we’ve already seen how good Unai is at improving players just look at Morgan Rogers, that kids going to fly next season.

​@@EmiMartinezVillaLegendAs it stands the squad depth is better than last season. The strongest 11 is no stronger and maybe weaker. Dougie was 3rd best b2b MF in the PL. Diaby walks into any PL team on the RW outside the top 3 and Westham. Diaby was the next tier up in terms of signings We could make. There are many players in that tier We can sign and none above it
