Kamabavarithi Ilangai Jeyaraj was born in Nalloor and completed his education in traditional gurukulam, graduated from the Yazh Hindu College, in Srilanka. In 1980, at the age of 23, he established Akila Ilangai Kamban Kazhagam and in 1995, he initiated the Colombo Kamban Kazhagam. Kamabavarithi Ilangai Jeyaraj conducts ‘KambanVizha’, ‘IsaiVelvi’ and ‘NatakaVelvi’ every year respective to the three divisions of Tamil, ‘Iyal’, ‘Isai’, ‘Natakam’and contributes to the dissemination of the Language. With his Thirukural discourses and classes on Saiva Siddhantha,‘’Kamabavarithi’’ is a devoted Tamilian who has dedicated his mind, body and soul to this beautiful language.
