I mean, the album "Ashes" had softer songs like this on there. "Decay" was relatively soft compared to the rest of the album. I think this is just the style they're going to go with for the remainder of the albums which, in my opinion, isn't a bad thing at all. I personally enjoy this song..if you don't, that's definitely okay. As for the 8 songs, they're planning on coming out with an album a year. So really 16 songs every 2 years compared to 10 songs every 2 years is better haha

it changes for each song, sometimes they're Logan's personal experiences, or shared experiences, or stories Logan wants to tell. This song was about a bit of how Logan has felt in the past which was also a shared experience between us all, but we feel we're in better places in life now so we wanted to write this song as if dedicating it to our past selves who may have felt it was never going to get better. Things do get better, though it may be a complicated and difficult ride in the process.
