This lens is probably the best wide angle lens for the Sony E, Nikon Z and the Fuji X mount cameras.
It is sharp, it is accurate, the auto focus is fast and oh man I love this lens. This Viltrox lens pairs very well with these systems. I even tried this on the Sony A7IV and wow.

I've used - Shooting > Image Quality > Lens Compensation > Shading Comp., which dramatically reduces the vignetting with my Viltrox FE 24mm f/1.8. I set it on Auto. At the moment, I just have the 24mm from Viltrox. But, I definitely want to get more Viltrox lenses.

this is my humble request to all content creators using latest sony mirrorless cameras to disable the EYE PRIORITY in autofocus feature of their cameras at least in video mode. the EYE DETECT feature undoubtedly gives perception of better looking video but because sony's EYE AUTOFOCUS is so powerful and that coupled with modern lenses at wider aperture results in a video that has a very small portion of the screen that is highly in focus. this obviously looks impressive f0r stlls but when it comes t0 vide0, and especially when the subject is m0vng, it bec0mes strainful on eyes of the viewer to watch.

Hello my Friend. Thaks so much for the video. I really like your content. Have a question in regards to this lense. Or maybe a general one. You mention buying the 13mm lense and putting it on your A74. Does it allow you to shoot in 4k? I have an FX3. When I try to put APSC lenses on it, it does go into S35 mode......but will not allow me to record in highest quality 4k modes. Do you have that issue with this setup?

Hi Jason, great video. Do you think this lens would be suitable for astrophotography with the Sony α6000 camera? How do you think it would compare against the Samyang/Rokinon 12 mm F2, the Laowa 9 mm F2.8, the Sigma 16 mm F1.4 and the newly released Sony 11 mm F1.8 - especially for astrophotography. (Am trying to decide on a lens for that purpose to use with my Sony α6000.) Thank you!

Certainly. It depends what field of video you prefer with Astro. The f1.4 is a great deal for getting better low light performance and not having as long shutter times

So just to clarify, on full frame it’s basically a 20mm 1.4? (T stop 1.4 , bokeh would roughly be around an f2?) making this a a competitive alternative to the Sony 20g when looking at it from strictly a video standpoint?

Yes that is correct. Depth of field will be roughly an f2 but the low light performance of an f1.4

The Sony 20mm f1.8 if you’re on the fx3 but a7iv in slow motion has that aps-c crop. This is where Viltrox 13mm has brilliant value

Actually the reason I asked You, because me and 3 of my friends are going to a Jordan/Saudi Arabia content creator trip and I really wanna vlog, but also shoot a short cinematic travel video of the entire trip. So the FX3 with the GM 16-35 at 4k60 would be my A-cam and the A7iv with the 20 G 1.8 at 4k24 would be my vlog set up connect with a DJI Mic. Also I could shoot some astro photos with the 20 g 1.8 in the middle of the desert which I could hardly do with the Viltrox at super 35 crop mode having only 14megapixel out of my 33mp on the A7iv. 🤔 same with the Sony 11 f1.8 (only good for video) Have you ever done photos with these apsc lenses on your A7iv?
