Ahhh man, I used to wrestle my younger brother all the time as a kid, and one move I'd thought up was some sort of cradled powerbomb where I'd pick him up from the ground, swing him between my open legs, then in one motion swing him up whilst falling forward into a powerbomb. I did it one night when my parents were out... had some friends over, dragged a mattress downstairs and we were playing wrestling. Went to do my "finisher" on my brother, and I'm like, this is it, I'm going for the big one so decided to give him the old "...and a-ONE-a and a-TWO-a and a..." and try and swing him twice for more momentum. Holy shit, on the way back down at full momentum with the second swing I managed to WHANG! the back of his head straight onto the concrete floor. Made the most horrible thud I've ever heard... so naturally I rubbed his head, tried to tell him hes OK, he's a tough guy, anything to not make him burst into tears... but thinking back now as an adult... he was clearly concussed as fuck, poor kid lol, he wasn't right for the rest of the night.

Fun fact: Brent Bozell, who founded the Parent's Television Council, is also is a huge booster for Trump. Trump appeared on the wwe. And also has a habit of not being family friendly, especially surrounding the topic of women in his life. I hate this. I hate all of this. Edit: if you want to fall down the rabbit hole, look up the Media Research Center. Brent also used to make frequent appearances on Bill O'Reilly's show, who also had less than family friendly issues with women. He would come onto his show and whine about liberal media bias. On Fox. Don't get me wrong, media bias is a huge problem, but hearing about it from Brent on Fox was laughable. Brent's dad was also a piece of work.

In the UK we have "The Watershed" and it's where no adult TV (ie 18 rated programming) can be shown before 9pm (might be 8pm) and unused to watch WWF before the watershed when I was younger haha

Why do people push for government to make all their parenting decisions for them instead of I dont know, being a responsible person and monitoring the content your child is taking in instead of letting have access to unlimited media. It happened in the 90s with this shit, the 2000s with video games, and now youtube getting curb stomped by coppa despite you needing to be atleast 13 to even access the site. Like holy fuck, don't want your kid watching WWE, or playing a violent video game that literally has a rating on the front of the box that tells you who its for, or getting ads targeted to them in an elsa gate video, dont let them consume it holy shit.

@@EternallyEve You're right. I mostly just have it on for background noise. That was pre-pandemic though. The empty arena matches are barely tolerable.

2:50 The fact that Steve Austin with a buzzcut and without facial hair sorta looks like a buff version of Woody Harrelson could also have had something to do with the fact that he wasn't quite the Stone Cold we know just yet. 😂

Pro wrestling never ceases to confuse me, because I thought it's staged but all the fans act like it's real.
@titaniumvulpes10 ай бұрын
It's choreographed. You need to think of it like stuntmen doing action scenes in a movie, or circus artists doing trapeze acts. They're real athletes and they are actually hurting each other (you can't fake whipping someone with a chain hard enough to leave welts, for example), but they're trying to inflict as little damage as possible. Regardless, much like other sports, they tend to have to retire early from physical injuries (my mom's friends with a wrestler who had to retire in his 30s from back injuries). The storylines, rivalries, etc however _are_ made up and scripted and for the most part everyone gets along well enough off-stage. They play characters - the characters The Undertaker and Kane are brothers, but the real human people Mark Calaway and Glenn Jacobs aren't, they're just the actors who _played the characters_ The Undertaker and Kane. It's not like boxing where people just go into a ring as themselves and fight as a sport, professional wrestling is more like a stage play with martial art stunts. That's why so many wrestlers go into movies after retiring from wrestling - they're actors above all else.
