I didn't watch this video, so I can't respond to criticisms of it. Joe Costello claims he was previously unaware of the new expenses allowed for PR, because that's the semi-plausible line of avoiding the question.

But being unaware of such significant happenings in a government of which you are part of just shows a whole new ill - complacency. To not know something like this, not that we even believe it anyway, just makes Joe Costelloe out to be a buffoon. It's a highly fraught defense really, as it is obvious that he will be asked "Well what do you think of this? What is your initial reaction to this news?" This doesn't give him a lot of time to think, and waffle and mislead, but an "initial reaction" is still expected, and is not unreasonable. So he really just made himself look like a buffoon there. God they're horrible people really. Of all walks of life where honesty is not only essential but most respected (and expected) they are the amongst the most dishonest and polished scumbags you could find. It wearies me. They have no balls whatsoever. Cowards, and greedy miscreants the lot of them.
