People who watch his channel expect him to shit on "non-authentic" food so thats what he wants to provide in his videos. Same as in the video with the neapolitan pizza chef where Vincenzo always tried to push him into hating the Pizza recipes other people put out. Im pretty sure hes not completely honest here. Stuff like Dominos and McDonalds does taste good to the vast majority of people. Of course its unhealthy and there is food out there that tastes better but these fast food chains have good scientists working on making it taste good (and unfortunately addictive) while still being cheap and easy to make.

I used to work for dominos so I know where their products come from. Ham, Pepperoni and sausage are processed. Olives pineapple , jalapenos, and sauce are canned . The onions, green peppers , mushrooms are all pre-cut but fresh, and so is the beef. The dough is pre prepped and brought to the stores in trays , then hand tossed when orders are made. Domino's is actually the chain I haven't eaten much in my life (maybe a couple times). Pizza Hut is the one I've eaten the most....it's definitely not an Italian style, but I do like the buttery crust. There's quite a few pizza places in my city of Atlanta that I've eaten (some, good American styles, and others real Italian styles). But these days I also make pizza: have a really good Chicago deep dish pizza recipe, and have just gotten a thick steel for making NY style/Neapolitan pizza. The next video suggestion for me is your meat lover's pizza recipe: so I'll bookmark it. I first learned about Pasta Grammar when Harper was subjecting Eva to American fast food: literally do think the first of their videos I saw was Eva's disgust of Domino's Pizza! Then they had another episode trying Domino's "pastas"....don't know if you should even look at pictures of them: their Carbonara will make you cry for weeks on end.

There's a nice pizza place near where I live, and I honestly don't get why they aren't bigger. They make their own sauce, everything is made fresh, they are cheaper than all the chain restaurant around (especially Dominos) and they use ingredients that would make sense on a pizza. Plus, they're also the fastest on delivery. As for Dominos, the reason for their success is simple: marketing. At least where I'm from. They are giving out rebates so often, for so much, it's hard not to say no. I remember once they had a promo for up to 8 pizzas at 5$ each. Friend of mine ordered 8, 6 of them uncooked. When they arrived, he froze those 6, kept them for later.

The problem is that you ordered the expensive ones... Lets say, as a peruvian with an italian family, we still buy from domino's because... the base "american" or "peperoni" family sized is the 25.90 (soles) which is atound $7... artisan pizzas here are around $20-50 each... so unfortunetly, is not even a competition. And having a pizza oven, with a minimum wage of $250 a month... is just a no go. I usually but the cheese pizza ($7) and i add the toppings at my house.

I live in Eu tried Pizza Hut and other pizzahouses but nearby where I moved there is Italian Place where the owner is Italian and those pizzas cost sometimes a little bit more but that is no brainer to pay a little extra and get much more in terms of quality.

While I usually don't have it on a pizza, pineapple is a perfectly fine thing to have on it. It's fashionable to say it doesn't belong with ham but if you knew that they go together in other dishes... I guess people complain about them too? No they dont.

@@vincenzosplate Ovviamente! :) When I lived in the USA I started making my own thanks to Davide Civitiello, Enzo Coccia and Italia Squisita (I hadn't discovered your channel back then). Still not as good as the real deal though (preferably with a nice sea breeze and a view of Vesuvio). And the reason why (prepare to be horrified): one time we were at a pizza restaurant and they had this whole menu of pizzas with half a grocery store on top, but you could make your own, so I asked the waitress for a Margherita, she had no idea what I was talking about, so I explained it to her and she couldn't understand I only wanted tomato, cheese and basil on my pizza lol. Another time we were in a new takeaway place and it looked great until they took the dough and placed it in some kind of press and out came a pizza pancake. That really called for a "Mamma mia, che fai??? 🤌" So I knew that if I ever wanted to have some good pizza I had to make it myself.
@hellblaster58159 ай бұрын
I cannot say I am cook original Margherita since I use Electric oven and add Paprika on Whole wheat dough. But glad that my 2 years old daughter refuses to eat 'Domino style' pizza. She even hates smell of it. But never saw she refused Margherita😂😂
