To be fair, he kinda did and didn't at the same time. Sure you can stay in your house and the zombies will bang on your door and eventually get in, which is what Joel described, but after you leave the house, which happens pretty quickly, it stops being that. To give the game credit, I think it is still something that Joel would very dearly enjoy even if it's not 100% what he described. It has that energy of a text adventure or point and click game that allows way too much freedom to the point you can easily kill yourself as the game will not prevent most idiotic but fun actions. It reminds me of AI dungeon too as "microwave shoes" is something Joel would type in there.

Like that the existential loneliness of having nothing but the living dead to keep me company would make me nope out of existence faster than a catcher at a grenade range. 10/10 accomplished everything that interested me and got bored within a week. "Everybody is playing now." Everyone has been playing it for years. Anyways, I don't get why they don't explain the inventory in an easier way, using i to open/close it and clicking the thumbtacks so that it doesn't constantly close whenever you don't want it to so you have better control over your items. Anyways, Lucky is very useful. Gives a chance for zombies to be carrying axes, and better loot as well as lowers the chance of infection from scratches, lowers chance of getting bit, etc.
