8:58 I never thought I would see anything related to Maka Maka on Vinesauce, but here we are. A bit of context, Maka Maka is a Super Famicom RPG that is kinda like Earthbound except way weirder. Unfortunately, due to financial issues during the development of the game, the game was released in a sort of untested/buggy state, making it infamous in the Japanese gaming community as being the buggiest Super Famicom game ever released. It does have it's charms, despite the bugs, and someone was working on an English translation YEARS ago, but dropped it. It's a really interesting game to research and play if you use a guide (also it has a pretty decent soundtrack).

1:37:24 holy SHIT i literally hadnt watched game commercials since part 6. and yet the one time i decide to stick around for it, vin FINALLY plays the commercial ive been waiting for since he started doing this segment aside from ones for KH games with utada playing in the bg, this is THE video game commercial i remember having the most effect on me as a child as a nine year old girl it was absolutely mesmerizing. it made me ask for super princess peach from my parents, which i eventually got and loved and will still defend to this very day. it was also one of the first, if not THE very first, adventure games i played and beat (+ 100%ed) on my own without my brothers help, on the first console that belonged only to me (the teal og ds that came with a sweet nintendogs bundle). not his or the familys. mine. and yet vin barely even reacted to the commercial. fookin MENTAL

It's a source of many nutrients that are otherwise hard to obtain from other foods; just like everything else that's 'healthy', it doesn't mean that you'll be healthier if you have loads and loads of it. Unfortunately, propaganda favours simplicity, so the concept of 'healthy food' is born as an abstract buzzword: the illusion that a given type of food is incapable of making you unhealthy. As a non-american, the 'Got Milk' campaign is incredibly weird. The fact that is was a campaign, though, seems incredibly telling of its nature. If it was truly done with the health of the public in mind, wouldn't it have been taught in schools, rather than on the same platforms that exist purely to shove products down throats?

From what I can tell the Québec kirby ad at the beginning is kind of unique in the sense that a lot of the video game ads that got aired in QC mostly were either dubbed ads from the US or just the exact same ones from France. But afaik its one of two video game commercials I've seen from that time have a decent production and also use actors from Québec. The other is a Dr Mario song commercial

Not really. Sometimes you'll see some French people say that they can't understand the québécois accent but honestly the only explanation i have for that is that those people are kind of stupid. Obviously like with any languages you'll have some accents specific to some places that can be hard to understand (the Acadian accent comes to mind) but it's still the same language. But quebeckers really dont have any trouble understanding european French. A lot of the dubbing done in Qc, minus some exceptions like the simpsons which is done with the heavy QC accent, is done in the "standard" international French with some minor changes to some pronounciations. Like for exemple there's two French dubs of the Raimi Spiderman films, the French one and the Québec one. One of the huge differences between the two is the way the word "Spiderman" is pronounced. In France they say it "Spi-dèrre-manne" while in Qc people here simply say Spiderman like in English. But a lot of the dubbed stuff you'll have in Qc will the identical one used in France, it's not everything that gets Québec specific dubbing.

I fucking loved this stream. Chat's always clowning on Vinny so it was amazing to see Vinny flip the tables and have US trembling in fear that some people in shitty costumes could be the next video. This made me wonder if Vinny really didn't like the segment initially, and so inserted "alternative media" to make us experience his suffering. I'd like to nominate this segment for stream of the year. Never in all my years watching Bipyort have I ever been so damn SCARED of what the lad was going to show us next, knowing it was wholly out of my control.
