Actually, I'd think it'd be way better if more pastas brought the creepy stuff from videogames into a real context, I.E. being abducted by a symbiotic monster to "save" a world of bizarre and inexplicable horrors where you're not even sure you're doing the right thing (Monster Party), a time loop where the same three days before the world gets destroyed repeat over and over again and you have to investigate various sinister/disturbing structures to stop it (Majora's Mask) or even just wandering around a creepy wasteland filled with inexplicable creatures and minerals (Minecraft). Those could actually be pretty cool.

I would just like to mention, for all those who aren't aware: these are all (or, at least, almost all) fan-submitted. In reality, Donkey Kong: Country is extremely difficult to corrupt, as the game simply freezes or crashes 99% of the time when you try to get past the level select screen. I witnessed a stream where Vinny attempted to corrupt this game, and there were only one or two instances where he got past the level select screen. tl;dr - DKC is almost impossible to corrupt properly, so Vinny relied on the power of the fans for this video.

That may be true, but if you use save states properly, you can get past the title screen even if the game crashes there 99% of the time. Because of this knowledge, I've seen quite a few good corruptions when I was playing around with this game. The only downside is that I have to use the save states to get into the game every time and I don't have a cool title screen to check out in the process.

Nope. To my knowledge, the corruptor creates temporary localized files that copy the ROM's data and saves over it.

if its a pc rom thats not an issue, roms run on emulators instead of actual systems. i have a few on my channel that i am playing. although time issues keep me from continuing them,

you download the rom and emulator, make a backup of the rom incase it gets messed, same with normal pc games if you mod a game you always back it up somewhere just in case.
