I agree that's an awesome idea. Imagine if there were funny ghost players abilities like raining skittles, drawing with crayons, or playing meme sounds. It won't confuse players about if a game event is from the bad ghost or if they are pranks by the dead player. The dead player can still help live players figure out the type of spirit by talking through a special spirit box and choosing objects round the house?

Another dumb idea is having ketchup nad mustard squeeze bottles to squeeze over the house and players. Dead players can communicate by writing in a book, except they must fill in a Mad Libs sentence to communicate. They can unlock doors and turn on lights to help.

The initial concept of this seemed pretty promising due to the ghost hunting tools and stuff, it could actually be pretty creepy trying to make contact with the unseen entities, but I think there's too much focus on the whole "stumble around in pitch black buildings" thing and not enough focus on the actual ghost hunting. Like, yeah, unlit buildings at night would be dark, but when players literally spend 10+ minutes trying to find a staircase that's 5 feet away from them, I think it's safe to say that it affects gameplay in a negative way. Make flashlights more accessible, lighten up the environments just enough to be navigable without lights, etc. Good potential here and I'm glad the dev is active with updates/feedback, but definitely needs some work before it really hits the mark, imo.

YvngXero it’s definitely just new players being new players, it gives you one flashlight and then it’s not an issue - normally you’re playing with someone that has like $30-300 that can buy more - but 4 new players means 1 of each starter item split. It’s never an issue otherwise

Id definitely blame their settings and inexperience with the game for the light issues, pretty much every other stream I've seen has the players with even a decent enough knowledge on how to play get around their surroundings pretty well even without using the better flashlight, hell they could maneuver themselves adequately even when they were first playing in the bigger maps. Tbh this has been the most disorienting stream of Phasmophobia I've seen upto now because of all of that, these guys were clearly not ready for it methinks.

The game could get licencing from that and use it vie an online connection between the servers. So it would be possible in theory but much too much work indeed. They would be better off doing, as you say, parroting instead.

I've played the game for about ten hours and the the cycle of gameplay is engaging for a game deep in alpha. There's quite a few imperfections to the game but ghost hunting with friends is really fun, a lot more scarier playing it for yourself than just watching. I think this game looks really cool, but they gotta make your light sources not useless. The lighter gives off maybe 5% of the light a candle would. I get darkness=scary, but you still need to be able to play the game. I feel like if they fixed that, it'd be a solid 9/10

In real life a lighter doesn't provide that much light. In complete darkness you're able to see maybe two feet in front of you with one. In this game it's more like two inches. What bugs me even more is they don't have a hat you can wear with LEDs on it. You can only hold up one item at a time, which means turning on the lights all the time to use the camera, PKE meter, book, or ghost box. You can't just shine the flashlight on the thing in your other hand.

Even though Vinny is using the camera incorrectly by flashing it randomly I'm not even mad because he's trying to use it to spot the ghost and he's actually doing a good job of pointing the camera in wide shots where it'd grab it. For those that don't know, in IRL ghost hunting (not that I believe in any of it, but it's interesting to me from a cultural perspective) ghosts will show up in photographs where the naked eye can't see them. Vinny is assuming that's the case in this game and that he can see where it is in the room by snapping a photo and looking at it to see if the ghost shows up. This is a mechanic that's been done in games before too. In Dark Chronicle (Dark Cloud 2 for those in the US) there's a very specific little cave off the beaten track where if you snap a photo in a specific spot, you see a vague ghostly shape that can't be seen with the naked eye. There's nothing else in the game like this so it's really creepy. It's not too big of a secret because you're told by Donny, who tasks you to get various "scoops", in vague terms to go try and get a photo of the rumored ghost in a cave in the beach area. Even with his hint it's pretty hard to find though if you don't know exactly where it is. TL;DR: Vinny did a genuine big brain on this one despite his assumption being incorrect.
