@Mialisus There were two potential reasons (which were not mutually-exclusive): 1. They didn't know if it would ever get a NA release, and it didn't take much memory to add that 1 screen ahead of time; 2. It was just so common in arcade games that if your game didn't have it, it was considered strange.

It's such an obscure game that there isn't even a Wikipedia article on it. Oh boy, did I click this link quickly when I saw Trio the Punch on the thumbnail. I played through this game 16 years ago or so when I was on a quest to play every game under the "Beat em Up" tab on a video game website I don't think is even around anymore. Phrases like "WEEBLES FALL DOWN" and "YOU FIGURED IT OUT!" haunted my dreams for years.

That first game, 'Alien Challenge' had that awfully familiar music playing in the background in that oriental street stage. I searched around a bit, then found out it was the theme of 'Once Upon a Time in China', action movie series featuring Jet Li as the main character, 'Wung Fei-hung'(this name being the original title of the game and the motive for the character Vinny faced as well) Interestingly, both game and the show are famous. The show for being actually good, and the other being.. quite funky. Too bad Vinny missed an opportunity to check out the character donning the chinese dynasty era armor on stream. Apparently she fires boob hadoukens or something... I learned so much, all thanks to Vinny.

I had to look it up, it was six years ago and now I feel old. I remember vague bits and pieces of watching that fever dream unfold live for two hours while Joel beat it start to finish.
