We all lie to think of these neighbor games as "low effort cash grabs on an already popular and successful game," but I believe the story arch for the games is much more deeper than we thought. It starts out with "Angry Neighbor", where your crazy neighbor just moved in, and you, the "Nice guy neighbor," insists on helping him move in, yet our neighbor keeps on assulting you, forcing you to "wake up" from every generation of neighbor. This is the same "Hello Neighbor Gameplay," but we see more of the neighbor's hatred of others in "Fidget Neighbor," where we see the neighbor assulting and even killing neighborhood kids, with a fidget spinner, which then causes him to snap, and go on a murderous rampage all around town. But in the end of the neighbor games and the stream, we get "neighbor heart surgery," where the neighbor, so filled with hate, has a heart attack, and the only one nearby, is the neighbor from the first Android game. Even though he's been having nightmares of getting assulted by the neighbor all the time, STILL helps him, and calls the ambulance, which then, Dr. Binyot performs open heart surgery to save his life. This causes the neighbor to have a new, "outlook" on life, in which he is loving, caring, and never assults other neighbors. Or at least, until the next neighbor moves in....

You know, during the killer clown game when Vinny talks about how kids grow up playing these games, getting used to getting 5 minutes of dopamine hits from every shitty short game they play, and that affecting their attention span for everything, I don't think he's exaggerating - I think that's only scratching the surface. If this dopamine overload craze is already affecting adults, I can't begin to imagine how it affects children. Usually when you hear someone go like "think of the children" you automatically disregard it like a Karen being a Karen, but really, think of the children - and the adults that they'll grow up to be.

I don't understand why all of these games are flooding the Play Store. There are good mobile games, but they get overshadowed by these. There's so many games on this stream that reuse assets to form gameplay, probably steal some art and modify it a little bit, then program a tiny bit of the game to make it possible to start. Then they pop ads on it and make some revenue for their low effort creation. It's horrible. You can tell most are doing it for ads, because they aren't respectable with showing them. I've seen creative games on the Play Store that presents ads as a choice, and doesn't ruin the whole experience by invading your attention. Those kinds of games need more attention than these. At least I get funny streams, though. It's so easy to know what not to do when games like this make it so obvious.

Finding good games on the play store is the literal dictionary definition of finding a needle in a haystack its fucking impossible. It's 99% gatcha games and shovelware laden with ads and microtransactions and then there's genuine great games like wayward souls, 80 days, out there, fuck there's even a free retro styled official stranger things game that's pretty good.

If you want a recommendation of one of the good ones I'd recommend Oden Cart. Not much when it comes to gameplay but the artstyle is gorgeous and the characters and narrative are surprisingly engaging. Plus, it's free and doesnt cave your face in with ads. So that's a plus.

I know I'm like 1.5 years too late but Lily's Day Off is actually pretty good. It's a VN but not a normal VN. The choices you make are retroactive so, for a completely made up example, if you choose a "nice" answer then your character is a nice person and maybe they're just on their way to the store but if you choose a "mean" answer then maybe they're running away from a bank they just robbed. Basically, anything goes. Each playthrough is like 10 minutes long, at most, and the goal is just to collect all of the many endings. It's pretty fun and so is it's recent sequel Lily's Night Off.
