When I saw there was a easy mode, I instandly thought that with all those things they added to battle, I had to play hard mode, and I was kinda disappointed to see there wasn't any I really hope they'll do an update to add one, I would gladly replay that game as soon as they add it

I feel like literally the only reason people think the racing minigame is hard is due to the wording of "the tighter the rhythm" making them think they're supposed to mash. It's literally the easiest rhythm game in the world, you hit A and B when you hear the cymbal hit in the music.

I dunno about the rest of you, but I've found that *Special Enemies* seem to be appearing more and more often as the game goes on, to the point where 3/4 enemies in a Moleville room had Specials for me. I've since taken back what I said about the game being too easy - it's become a tactical game of sorts, holding onto Triple Moves until a boss or Special, making sure I don't waste it with a resisted element. (Which I have already done twice)

A tip for the magmite enemies and really for the game in general. If you equip your characters with Work Pants, then they will be able to beat them in 1 attack. Work Pants increase attack so they are good at that point. They also are a bit better than some of the other armor choices even in defense, for example Bower and Geno's arnors that are available at that point in the game as well at Marrymore.

I feel kind of sappy, but playing through this remake brought a flood of emotions back. I was into this game to the point where I drew my own imagined sequel of it. It was such a childhood game of mine that I didn't even remember until playing through it again. Truly a masterpiece.

I'm glad that so far one of my biggest issues in this game is that the timing and animation of the gags like pratfalling isn't as funny as the original, with some more lame unnecessary feeling changes that get more prevalent by seaside town. I'd of course not prefer they're there at all but it's at least still way way better than certain other remakes. This comes so so close to feeling like unquestionably the definitive Mario RPG experience and feeling like a huge genuinely passionate piece project from someone who 100% understands the love of the game without those flubs. Something about the atmosphere of Rose Town and Geno's cutscene in particular made me feel like I was seeing some sort of unbelievable devoted fan project uncovered.

Yeah, I feel like this remake would've benefitted from jerkier, more sprite-like animation at times. The biggest issue I have is that it's faithful to a fault in many places, and eschews many modern conventions for the sake of authenticity to the original. The general lack of sound effects is more apparent than ever - I feel like it wouldn't've hurt to add sound effects when characters are supposed to be speaking, at the very least. If they're worried that old fans would get annoyed, then just make them optional. I just feel that a handful of slight non-gameplay modernisations could've taken this from 'a great remake' to a top-tier game.

A part in this conversation that plays into this problem of unnecessary changes that do not help this remake is it’s woeful lack of respecting the OG renders on the crusty ahs 1996 computers the 3d models were made on. No one can share linqs anymore on comments as an anti bot measure, but check the mariowiki (NOT FANDOM) page for croco and look at gallery after scrolling down a bit. The differences in the old high res render (original intent of the character design since it was made with the games development) was lost in trying to be faithful to the pixilized versions of those high res 90s renders. In the original release of the game, crocos front teeth look puny because of the pixelization, so does his tonails (claws?). In the render they do not, but the dev team took the pixels as the “definitive version”. I’m a little mad about it, saddened and dissapointed since I really dig the 90s on-craqk square soft designs of the 90s. …… do NOT get me started on bowser. I will STRANGUL MEEAMODO IF HE WAS THE SOLE REASON FOR RETURNING HIM TO THIS WEAK FLABBY UNTHREATONING UNCLAWED PUPPYDOG OF A TURTLE DRAGON WHAT DID THEY DO TO MY FAVORITE MARIO RPG DESIGN BOYYY 😭😭😭😭😭

@@alfo2804 Bro it wouldn't have benefitted from that at all. They're not sprites anymore, they should've have jerky sprite movement. There aren't a lack of sound effects at all, there's no sound for these characters speaking and there never has been. That doesn't make the game worse or less than it was in the original or in general because the characters are silent and speak through text. Old fans like yourself nitpick the hell out of this stuff and just pretty baffling cause any normal person wouldn't bat an eye to it because it's not an issue. You don't make minor things optional, you make significant things like movement and music optional. And you especially don't make minor things that aren't problems whatsoever optional that's just way too specific and dumb. It's already a top tier game just as the og was, but even better with some new additions it brings to the table.
