Layer 7 Violence according to Dante's Inferno is a multi-purpose layer for three violence types, these types are seperated by giant circular walls surrounding the disc (like attack on titans city) named the houses The first level in Ultrakill for layer 7 is the lybreinth before the first circle, housing the Minotaur The first is violence against neighbors (world wars) The second is violence against ones self, suicide, the trees are suicide victims who were punished for abandoning "gods gift" forever in great pain The third circle is violence against god, art, and nature

Hakita's a big music nerd so there's a bunch of music references in the entire game. Here's some from Layer 7: 7-1's soundtracks "The World Looks White" and "The World Looks Red" is a reference to "The World Looks Red / The World Looks Black" from Swans' 2016 Album The Glowing Man, the final part of the trilogy of albums including "The Seer" and "To Be Kind". High recommend To Be Kind and Soundtracks for the Blind if you want to get started with Swans. 7-2's level name "LIGHT UP THE NIGHT" is a reference to rock opera band The Protomen's song "Light Up The Night" from "ACT II: The Father of Death" 7-3's level name "NO SOUND, NO MEMORY" is a reference to tinnitus simulator Merzbow's "I'm Coming to the Garden​.​.​.​.​. No Sound, No Memory" from "Dharma" 7-4 has my favourite two references, both amazing songs/albums. Coincidently (or not), it's also the last song one each album. The level name is "...LIKE ANTENNAS TO HEAVEN" which is a reference to Godspeed You, Black Emperor's "Lift Your Skinny Fists Like Antenna's To Heaven". Probably one of the best post-rock albums out there and highly recommended if you want to get into the genre. I'd also recommend F#A# infinity. I think Hakita was listening to gybe when making this layer. The final boss, the "EARTHMOVER" is a reference to Have a Nice Life's ending track from their 2008 album "Deathconciousness". The song is about manmade goliaths who were created only to destroy, however cannot be destroyed themselves. They knock down mountains, eating up the land until nothing but dust and sand remain, eternally wandering "wishing we were dead". A terrific album, highly recommended as well. A great intro to shoegaze and post-punk.

So fun lore about the boss of this Layer: Its all but stated that V1 (and V2 by extension) were built as warfare counters to Earthmovers (a small agile machine that could infiltrate the larger target and completely wreck its internals) but due to The Long Night/New Peace rendering the Earthmovers dead/inert, the V1 line's purpose was rendered obsolete before it even began. In a sense, V1 has fulfilled the purpose they werent able to carry out on Earth. *This Is The Only Way It Should Have Ended.*

I mean to be fair ULTRAKILL’s gameplay probably has like THE single biggest difference between someone who’s been told about the gimmicks and someone who hasn’t, like it’s likely INCREDIBLY common for someone to go through the entirety of ULTRAKILL without ever finding out things like Nukes, Pro boosts, railcoins, most coin things in general, and like slam storage and such. Like theyd probably have had WAAAY more fun with the game if they just like knew how incredibly vast the combinations and possibilities in ULTRAKILL are o: The backseaters aren’t there out of random chance, they’re there because of how INCREDIBLY big the gap in fun is between an unfortunately ignorant player, and an incredibly knowledgeable player is.

Like the atmosphere as a whole is pretty haunting and the lore is amazing with showing the sheer violence the humans of this setting did before they went extinct, which is a contrast compared to the awesome violence you've been doing. Makes me all the more excited what the final two layers will be like.

Gold sparkle attacks can be parried (and generally show up at the right time to land the parry too), blue sparkles can't be parried and need to be avoided. Seeing the guttermen continually punt him away as soon as he breaks the shield is tough to watch.

The first part of Divine Comedy is called "Inferno" and the author's name is Dante Alighieri. Hence why many call it Dante's Inferno when referring to the journey through hell which makes up the basis of Ultrakill's plot and setting. But I do agree with how some people have that sense of superiority in the community for all aspects of the game, which is unfortunate.

The Divine Comedy is a trilogy of poems composed of Inferno, Purgatorio and Paradiso, people usually refer to "Dante's Inferno" because it's the most popular part of the trilogy, and it is the part Devil May Cry, Ultrakill and presumably the game you're referring to (and also many, many other things) are based off, but yeah I agree most people probalbly haven't read any of the three parts and just know tidbits of it because of just how much it's referenced, or because of the Wendigoon video lol

I think based on vinny's play style, he'd benefit greatly from switching to the knuckleblaster and shotgun swapping when up close so that way he wont blow himself up. Plus knuckleblaster with shotgun swapping is some of the best dps in the game

I'm with chat member, vinny sohuld try DMC peak of combat, its stripped down gacha, but the core of the game is still there, its fun for an hour or two. Maybe someone should make a "passable mobile games" that includes monster hunter now, its surprising how close that one came to the real deal.
