The protagonists are named Zeedle and Deet but they kept saying Doodle Dip (clearly) every time they're shocked or in trouble. I stand with Vinny's theory that Doodle Dip is a strong cuss word, like "Anus Piss"

Their names are a reference to one of the first games the developer, Evryware, made for an early Heathkit H-8 computer running HDOS called Zeetle/Deet. No idea what the game is like, but looking at the covers for their other Heathkit H-8 games, they definitely weren't aimed at little kids lol
