i love the creativity in how they adapted a cleanup game to a magical dungeon with the slimes and mimics and all that. i'm in the same boat as vinny though that the genre doesn't do anything for me either.

Played the demo myself a few days ago, and I think the problem is it just feels like Viscera Cleanup Detail but greatly dumbed down, I didn't find the dungeon satisfying to clean, and it's not as easy to make a mess by mistake outside of dying to traps/the mimic. Also, the cartoon meat chunks isn't very interesting to clean vs body parts. All the game did was leave me hoping VCD2 is good.

Haunted House Renovator seems similar in trying to add more to cleanup game. Maybe eventually a game will find a good balance between cleaning and other kinds of gameplay.

I understand that Vinny was almost never a heavy reader on games (maybe overal) but dawg there is a tutorial right there in the corner for the Goblin cleanup game it answers most of his confusion moments. This reminds me how people want to buy stuff and ask "how much is it" when the price is literally right there upfront

The composer behind Sonic Mania, Tee Lopes, did the soundtrack for Metal Slug Tactics. I love the hangar theme sm, it's such a jam! I was alt-tabbed for a bit in the hangar while looking some stuff up about Metal Slug when playing the demo, and for me the song never got old, it's such a good tune.

Vin, you should definitely check out Pipistrello and the Cursed Yoyo, I think you would like that one. I enjoyed Riven, but that's a slow paced exploratory puzzle game from the Myst series, so don't think you'd like it. I streamed the demo and will be playing the full game in VR for my channel.

What people gotta know is that Goblin Cleanup is still basically in beta, with the dev team being a 3-man group from Argentina. From what I've played of the game, it looks pretty promising. I think they need a slightly better way to introduce the mechanics and controls of the game though.

I wouldn't say cleaning games give me anxiety, but instead just make me annoyed, because if you happen to miss even the smallest smudge in the corner of the second floor's closet, most of them are going to force you to search the entire house over again before they'll let you continue. That and the fact that I don't like doing menial tasks in games if I can help it.

However I have to say I'm not a fan of the sound design and the music, the sound design can be excused because is a demo but I'm afraid the music is too generic, especially when compared with the mainline Metal Slug games
