I started reading manga in my fourth year when I was in university in 2016. I remember how the farm arc saved me from the depression I was suffering from due to the stress of studying and working.

Same here bro, I had fears of the death and of the next steps too. But than I started reading up and researching different experiences like shown in this show. Some people in real life have these, and although there are similarities, it's unique to everyone. For the most part. So this anime actually captures that NDEr well enough.

I must say, this episode and your video made me tear up. I have a similar kind of anxiety, it's not a fear of death per se, but a fear of dying alone. I love when any kind of media (anime, videogames, music, videos, etc) makes you take a deep look into yourself. Life is hard, for everyone and it's a joy to find these little glimpses of guiding lights that push you forward. I think you are doing a really great job with these videos, keep up the great work!

Man, I used to have panic attacks about death while we were in high school. I feel like in my mid 20's I slowly learned to overcome some of that fear after watching the show Six Feet Under, but some of it came back after my mom passed. It's still not as bad as it was when I was in my teens, but I hope to regain a sense of calm regarding the whole thing as I continue in life.

i don't mean to be depressing but as someone who is battling a heart disease that was with me from birth this is very profound to me my fear of death isn't necessarily what's after but rather the dying process (the pain the discomfort) i am going to my hospital appointments but my heart disease is bringing me so much pain and discomfort (Breathing problems chest pain ) i am only praying i get to live at least 5 more years but i have this crippling feeling that i don't have long to live however i did reach a point where i recognized that my fear will not help my situation at all And i keep reminding myself death is not something i can control (As in it's inevitability ) No matter if you are healthy or unhealthy Fortunate or Unfortunate Death will happen either way It doesn't matter if you live a long or live a short life death happens all the same And whether it's a painful one Or a less painful one it doesn't matter It's an inevitable part of the universe ..everything that has a beginning has an end And to live is to die This however doesn't mean a person should just feel broken till there last breath is drawn Instead it's a good reminder that it's something beyond our human capability and it's good to accept it (or try to ) I am trying but my fear is way too crippling ....this mindset eases it a little however i'm a human at the end of the day :)

Nice essay man! You nailed the feeling of the last scenes and I don't even have kids. What I don't know is how it must feel like having anxiety and panic attacks because of the thought of death and mortality, sounds terrible! 😓 I mean you're right ofc and I understand, that we all fear death and thinking about the possible eternal nothingness after it can be tough to deal with sometimes. But I sincerely hope for you that those moments of crisis get less and less with time until they fade away someday 💪🏻 After the first Season I didn't expect Thorfinn to go the pacifist route in the second, he's basically Kenshin at this point 😃 which isn't bad at all, Kenshin is still my personal favorite manga/anime of all time also for nostalgic reasons, but Vinland/Berserk are objectively clearly at the top of manga I'd say. Can't wait for the next episodes! 👍🏻 (and no, I have not read the Vinland manga yet, but I read Berserk like 11 years ago)
