People forget - Keane was quick of mind and fleet of foot. He was a superb footballer. Did all the basics extremely well, at pace and he would link and create play to allow the wide men and Eric and Ole and co to score the goals. Back in the 90’s in a lot of ways Roy Keane was the difference. No one quite had a leader like him- an enforcer but also a talisman and a commander in battle.. He’s the one domestic player that every clubs fans would have signed if they could.

@ Yeah, I’ve seen Keane a few times at Villa Park when he played against Villa and he didn’t have to play hard against us. The first match I saw was when we beat them 3-1 on the first day of the season (I don’t actually remember if he played in that) when we had Savo up front. Second time was when Giggs and Beckham too that free kick at the same time. Good game but Man Utd chased and screamed at the ref every time they wanted a decision. It really ruined it for me. Jones was actually better than people realise but obviously he prided himself on being a hard man. But the big difference in both of these famous clips is that Keane was just a lot better than Jones. If Keane gets sent off it’s going to be a struggle. One player I’ve been watching a lot recently is Gattuso. He gets a bad rep but a lot of the times when he got in trouble was when he didn’t start it 🤣
