man, those first two Exhorder albums were the soundtrack to the twilight years of my adolescence. that didn't make me an angry young man, though. my mom didn't get it; "you're a good kid, why on earth do you like that angry, yelling music?? " she asked. i replied, "mom, they're yelling for me, so i don't have to."

Absolutely! But their achievement in the capacity of a groundbreaking Louisiana band can never be denied.

Very cool stuff! I've heard about Phil auditioning for Exhorder, but didn't know whether it was true or not, so it's nice to hear it straight from the source! I don't think Exhorder can truly be Exhorder without Vinnie

My jaw dropped mid interview! I knew on the inside that this was huge. And yes, I agree with you. Do subscribe, as we have more with him coming.

I spent a weekend in the same hotel as Exhorder about 5 or 6 yrs ago. They were playing a festival. I had the privilege to hang out with the guys quite a bit and Vinnie told me the story about Phil. Long live the Godfather.

The Phil story sounds around the same time as when Dime was offered the guitarist spot on Megadeth by Mustaine, maybe had Vinnie let Phil stay and Dime accepted the Megadeth offer Pantera would have been nothing but a footnote in metal history. FUN FACT: Also around the late '80s and early '90s Kirk Windstein wanted to try out for the bass spot in Exhorder but in the end decided to start Crowbar.

Yeah that’ll remain a mystery. But I’d say Vinnie made his point with dignity.

Vinnie is chill as f...! We talked for quite a while after one of the Exhorder shows at Slaughter Fest. Had some things in common. Yo, Vinnie, are you ever going to show me how to properly play "Tragic Period," or we're you just drunk? 😂 Edit: I kind of figured it was a falling out, when I read your press release about leaving. I wonder if Marzi left due to a disagreement. By the way, I was wearing a KNAC shirt at the Atlanta show. Side note: something about you reminds me of Dr. John. Not the beard and sunglasses, but your personality. In 1990, I spent about a month around Dr. John in L.A.; saw him daily, he helped me through some sh... Point is, I got to know his personality and something about you reminds me of him. 😂

So the truth comes out finally Kyle wanted the band for himself well guess what? from what i heard from the last two singles that band won't last the year. Exhorder was built on Vinnie's and Jay Ceravolo's signature groove that inspired a whole new generation of bands right after Ill be honest i didn't like Southern at all and i REALLY don't like the shit Kyle has written he might as well of just called it a different name because to me? Exhorder is officially DEAD again. What a waste what could have been.

@@neworleansmusiciansYes i didn't really care for the direction they went there were moments but if i wanted to hear what came out of that album i would of went to my CD's and pulled out some old COC Fall From Grace Jay Ceravolo songs. Just wasn't a fan of it tbh

Exhorders new record sounds like a chicken without a head..... let's just say vinnie was the head....HA! In all seriousness I don't like pat O'Brien trying to toss in death metal, it doesn't work for exhorder.
