It is amazing to me how quickly people forget or turn. Like how somehow one injury is all it took, the man was done. It doesn't really shine a positive light on we humans memory and common sense. The man was leading the league in rushing (what do you know? ) when he broke his foot and yet if you were to go by what most people were saying the King had to give up his throne. The man was on pace to not only for another 2,000 yard season (back to back I might add) but was actually on pace to break the record. He still finished in the top 10 in yards despite missing over half the games LOL. It didn't take him to long to make it very clear to every doubter and hater out there that the King still reigns and he will let us all know when he's ready to give it up. I think there is a big confusion for many people who may not watch all of his games, they see big, powerful bruiser of a back and assume he must be destroying his body and taking big hits. But that's the thing that sets him apart. He can run through you but uniquely for his size he can run around you and more importantly he is so deceptively quick that defenders don't often get straight up clean shots on him, not that they really want to anyway. That's more than a business decision that's a life decision and usually guarantees being immortalized on a highlight reel forever (Josh Norman and Earl Thomas). Henry could retire tomorrow and he would already have done enough to be inducted in the Hall of Fame. This is no gimmick back or part of a duo. He doesn't have a QB that gives any team anything to worry about and nowhere near an elite O-line and yet he does what he does. Everyone in the stadium and at home knows he's getting the ball, he faces more loaded boxes than anyone else and yet year after year he leads the league. In sports there are some players who should never wear another jersey and Henry is one of those.

Reminds me of a taller Earl Campbell. He’s close to that level. Nobody had more mileage on the tires than The Tyler Rose when he retired running all the while with spinal stenosis. That’s the unfortunate thing about these power backs, they dominate completely until they totally fall off a cliff and it’s over. Glad to see he’s taking care of himself with proper nutrition and rest. Use every new technique they offer you young man. Mad respect to Derrick Henry from a dyed in the wool LSU fan. What a beast.

Man I’m so glad we kept ole Rick Henry. I wake up extra early to hate Alabama, my buddy was a huge A fan and told me “he’s just not a nfl running back”. But I knew if we kept him he would be good. And to top it off, he’s a good dude.

I’m a native Tennessean living in Orlando Florida now. Back in the 99/2000 season I was so crushed when the St. Louis Rams beat us but there is a very high likelihood that number 22 can get us a Lombardi at some point. I know Air McNair is looking down and he’s so proud and I know Eddie George who is still with us so proud of this young man. TITANUP y’all.

great work ethic by this man , as a titans fan since the 2001 season, we aré lucky to have him and we always have great running backs , that’s why he gets the big 💰 , good for him , he looks so focused and not one of those guys that you see on the news because of bad behavior, very happy for him , lets go titans !!!!!👍🏻👍🏻
