So I'm not sure if anyone said this or pointed it out to Vinny when he asked "Why does The Pricemaster exist?" There were groups of people all over Texas who were buying things at Yard Sales around 2001 and selling them for profit at Pawn Shops, other yard sales and private auctions. The actor behind the Pricemaster had enough and made this piece of art as a statement against the immoral jacking up of these prices, on things that other people originally owned and sold cheaply unknowingly.

I have a theory about the representation of the character of the Pricemaster. That it is a sort of modern interpretation of Pantalone, the character who represents "money" in Commedia dell'arte, old italian theater that originates from the 16th century. The thing that made me dig up stuff was the mask. It was very specific and felt like I had seen it somewhere before. So I search a bit and it is in fact a Pantalone Mask! The character was often depicted as an old, hunched over man with a large nose with his colors primarily being red, gold and black. Other mannerisms of various performances of the character where all in the acting of the legs, often times bow legged. Like the Pricemaster. I feel like they must've had a fan of theater in their group to sorta create this modern depiction of greed. A modern Pantalone thrown in the middle of a quiet town to cause a little bit of chaos.

Curt Hiss has a sequel tape where he’s basically a vigilante trying to bring down a drug lord. There’s no beatboxing but there are quite a few songs: one where a cop sings about whether or not he should plant evidence (What’s a Good Cop to Do?), and one where Curt Hiss’s girlfriend is strapped to a bomb and sings about how she’s about to be blown to pieces. Additional information on the PriceMaster for those curious: the PriceMaster actor was Nathan Ray Austin, an artist and musician. He sadly passed away in Feburary 2022 (reportedly) due to a potential medical complication behind the wheel of his vehicle. That video is one of his few creations that has been shared worldwide. He was certainly a creative mind we are all sad to see gone so early. I take his actions to be a lesson that you should just do your fun, wacky ideas and share what you got.
