When it comes to batting, Vinod Kambli was equally talented like Lara. Sourav gangually was nothing compared to Kambli but gangually was very dedicated, honest, committed and passionate about learning and improving on the other hand Kambli couldn't justify with his talent. I still remember in 9os there used to come a cricket magazine named cricket samrat. I got a cricket samrat in 93 after Zimbabwe's tour of India.In test match Kambli got double hundred 227, Kambli was mentioned in the magazine and the article heading was " Kambali the run machine ". Kambli had left the whole cricketing world stunned with his two double centuries against England and Zimbabwe.

Vinod kambli was largely talented on pata pitches only. So failed to score a single century and rare half centuries on foreign soil.Also he was found totally clueless when bowler bowled inswinggers to him(thats why he got large LBW dismissals in his career).

@@bhalchandrashewale6064 very true No doubt Kambli was talented.. But he could not prove his talent on foreign pitches.. Also, his weakness against short ball was exposed by Courtney Walsh only.. He was a complete failure in the World Cup 1992.. Yes. He scored 3 double hundreds.. But, on pata pitches only.. Has he been more matured, he would have been an asset for India.. But, unfortunately, it was not to be

No. This series ended his career. Even in this clip you can see how there is no footwork. And he is only whacking full & wide deliveries. He struggled against Bouncers throughout this series. Scored only 60 odd runs. Before this he had whacked a poor england team and Zimbabwe, Sri Lanka. None of those teams had quality fast bowlers then.. You comparing that to Lara? The god of footwork!

Ironically, it was the Windies pace battery that destroyed his career. He was subjected to a short pitch barrage in 1994 series and he was a sitting duck, and played the short ball even worse than Raina. That destroyed his confidence, and he never got a single 100 after that

Vinod Kambli after his failure shouldn't have changed his SS Bat by which he scored 2 Double Hundreds and 1 Hundred. For some Money He Choose to Bat with Four Square which did not prove lucky for Him. Feel Pity for such a Talented Cricketer. Sudden Fame in his Cricket Career he couldn't Digest.

The way he was impatiently attacking WI Bowlers in Mumbai in first inning of first Test, Courtney Walsh used Short ball against him and his technique to play short ball was exposed. Through out the test series WI almost destroyed his batting technique against short balls

This is not majestic.. This is agony at its peak.. He lacks technique to survive the short balls and eventually got out. This series marks the end of his career as well.. I've seen it live and maan, he was struggling to cope up with pace.

Very poor innings.. not a single convincing and technically correct shot. Most in the air, even the commentators saying that he is riding his luck and no footwork at all.
