I had this set! It may be in the loft at my Mums house... along with all the other Action Man kit and Action Men. What fun we had as youngsters...

As I've said before you should be an inspiration for a new toy story movie. you are a full unearthed buried treasure. You are a toy equivalent of 'Take Hart.' I hope you are well remunerated for your skill and endeavour. Thank you again.

Thanks Lee. You don't make much on youtube, I do it for the fun of it for now.

Fitting how both of their faces look as nervous as you would expect a real mine sweeper to look. No false bravado with these guys!
@toypolloi7 жыл бұрын
These are my two special nervous look guys. Something is up with both there eyes so they always look a little suspect. I think that's why they are my favourites :D

If you search for "MES torch bulb with lens" you should find those conical bulbs still around on ebay and other places. They come in different voltages, 1.2v was common for use on a single battery to get a very bright light.

Now that brings back memories, l dont have any of my action men any more, my collection is mostly star wars! as l got older l had to choose what l wanted to keep collecting & l had more star wars than anything else so it was the winner☺excellent review & video👍👍

Dave, I have to say that I am very jealous of your channel. You are living my dream job. Your work is exceptional. I particularly like your attention to detail and your solutions to the many problems you encounter.

Another really enjoyable video. I always like these more 'in depth' fixes. Surely if action mans mine detector no longer works, then his outfit should really be just a heap of blood stained rags....

My own ( still broken) set is a bit different. The detector has corrugated wire for bottom contacts, and had an elastic band frame for the battery holder.. Also a white skull is printed on the back of the jacket.

I always wondered if Palitoy, or Hasbro used to mix brass particles into their plastic. If you played with Action Man on a hot day, and you had a lot of brown gear with the brassy paint on it, then afterwards, your fingers smelled like you had been handling copper coins. Quite odd.

Great video. Are the wires glued in? Mine was so brittle that the wires broke inside the stick. Every time I try to pull I'm getting pieces. Also keeps me from simply passing two new wires.
@toypolloi3 жыл бұрын
Could be the plastic of the wire has fused to the outer plastic. I didn't try to remove them on mine. Cheers
@adamsmith57653 жыл бұрын
@@toypolloi didn't think about that. Great info as always. Thanks

Using steel plumbing plug bolsters instead of ordinary flat discs will give a more realistic 'mine' appearance; try it!

You can often remove corrosion with the graphite from a pencil. Just scribble on it and it falls away. Also using some Limeaway helps.
