Vintage Air install in the 1955 chevy

In this episode we've finally begun the installation of the vintage air unit we ordered a few weeks back following the rain gear install in the previous video. The main focus for this round was to install the interior/under-dash components while my father continues to tend to smaller issues with drive-train. Next round, we'll finish up installing the condenser, lines, and wiring so we can throw this car back together and prepare to move on to the next one! Thanks for watching!

henryhelen09 just so happens I have a nomad we’re kicking off once I wrap this cars drivetrain swap up (fuel injection and OD trans). Only difference is the harness I have for the nomad is American auto wire so it’ll be a learning experience all over again!

These videos are a god send! I'm about to start wiper and air projects shortly. What did you do with the side vent issue?

I decided I didn’t like the side vents when mocking things up, and capped them off just running the center under dash vent. I may go back and cut/install some factory style side vents but the ones in the kit I didn’t like at all

@@TheBuildSpot I didn't like that option either. When I spoke to the Vintage Air rep he said you could buy those that factory style ones and install. That's the route I/m gonna go with. Thanks again for the videos! They definitely help.

How did you install the heaters house to the pump to the vintage air unit thanks, I’m been having some problems also with the control panel

Not quite sure what you mean regarding the heater hoses? And I made a video covering the control panel as well, it was quite intimidating to me initially

Whats the total install hours on this....20 hours??

I wouldn’t say it was even half of that. Maybe 2-3 hours for me to get the bulk of it in, another hour to work on the controller and switches, and an hour or two under the hood compressor and wiring wise? I’m also quite slow at mechanic work compared to others so 6-7 hours for me may be more than others need

So I have one on my 55 150, but my fan sucks! I feel cold air but it never gets into the cabin. Did you get a bigger fan motor?

Your blower motor isn’t working right? Hmmm. Mine came all inclusive and worked wonderfully, I wonder if you’ve either got something blocked like a half stuck blend door, or the fan isn’t running at full capacity? Have you called vintage Air about it?
