I enjoyed your video, thank you for posting it. I'm a long roof fan, I like suburbans,vans and station wagons as much as my beloved 3rd Gen camaros I have one of each including my camaro and why I love hearses and ambulances.Your 74 is the one I'd want that happens to be my favorite year of caddies that body style 74-76 I prefer the 74 as they are the last year for round headlights. I like all 71-76 Caddies soany of those years is what I would want but would try for a 74 ,

Excellent narration. Very professional voice and delivery. My favorite is a 1968 Cadillac/Superior Coach with the bullet warning lights.
@vintageambulancechronicles3022 жыл бұрын
The 68 Superior has great lines and those bullet lights just added to the unique styling. One thing with the large engine is the car does not rocket off the line. It takes awhile to build up the speed...just like a freight train. But once it's at cruise speed, that engine just purrs.

i’m just a Car guy in general and i enjoyed this video for Entertainment and a little bit more information than i had before watching this interestingly My Great Grandparents purchased a Beach Bungalow in the 1940s in a small town pretty far East onLong Island New York and as a large family we still have yearly get togethers on a Beach nearby this town for over 35 years of my life i had visited this location every year and there was a Old Cadillac Ambulance parked in a fenced in Lot that someone had installed a Truck Camper on top of the rear section of the Amnulance it wasn’t beautifull but always made me smile to see it because of how Unique it was i’ve seen several others made that way throughout my travels not exactly the same but with the same Intent but different Equipment the one in that small town was a mid to late 1960s Caddallac with what i suspect to be a 1970s Truck Camper that would typically get strapped onto a Trucks Bed and be a Fully self contained Motor Home the other one i saw on a trip in the Midwest was of later Vehicles and parts i beleive a 1970s Caddallac Ambulance similiar to the one you own i’m assuming the builders of them had to chop off parts of the original cars to make the Slide in Camper fit the cars roof i also know that for many years that Hot Rodders and Moonshiners used to try and buy the older Caddilac Ambulances because they had one of the largest Cubic Inch and Powerful Engines made by American Car Manufactures i grew up inFlorida and those old Caddy motors are also the CrownJewels to use on Air boats to power the Propellas because of theirvTouquevand heavy Castings on the engine Blocks i don’t have any Ambulance Vehicles myself or plans on getting any but i do enjoybAutomobile History and other stories

Great car and video! Do you have any plans to restore the emergency lighting to period correct lights? Beautiful blue ambulance!

What does it cost to insure classic Cadillac ambulances such as these?
@vintageambulancechronicles3022 жыл бұрын
It's really very reasonable. The premium is based on the value of the car and how much it is driven. Much less than my other daily drivers.
@ericschminke82332 жыл бұрын
Why did some station wagon ambulances have curtains but others didn't? I wouldn't think too many people would want to be able to see a mangled body inside.
@vintageambulancechronicles3022 жыл бұрын
I have pull up shades that were built into the doors and side windows. Never used them back in the day. As far as a mangled body goes, not often. And the ones that were most likely were dead, and we placed them on a portable stretcher on the floor where they couldn't be seen.
