Thanks for taking a few moments to let me know that you liked it. So far, I have been able to do 1 video a week so hopefully you will find some of them to your liking😀

Love these timeless JBL monitors with fireworks dynamics and tactile instrument reproduction , provoking goosebumps , with efficiency missing in most speakers
@vintageaudioreview9 ай бұрын
Thanks for the comment and they are efficient! They will sound even better once I get the left channels' crossover correctly wired, which should be tomorrow- it turns out that several of the drivers were not hooked up correctly out of the crossover....

Sorry- must now seeing this comment- have to go back there soon and rewire one of them as they connected the crossover wrong.

The horn actually 'is' the tweeter and the 2405 is a supertweeter, crossing at like 9KHz. Also your 4350 are one of the oldest built, recognizable by the white woofer cones and the 2440/2405 driver cover plates mounted from the outside. The 2202 looks to be either reconed or replaced over time, the claws holding the units are also not original
@vintageaudioreview11 ай бұрын
I stand corrected- thanks for info. As I understood it, the units were in pretty bad shape and I think there was some re-coning. I don't know about the "claws". I will reach out to the guy I think worked on them and post back.

Thaks for keeping me honest and paying attention! I will be over at Richard's home for another a/b test in a few weeks and will look at the CD player- the one I thought was Levinson was next to the mcIntosh preamp.....

this room looks like about 25m2 on the movie ? Can You tell me isnt it too small for those huge 4350 ? :)
@vintageaudioreview Жыл бұрын
@@masterdimmuborgir The room they are in is a converted 2 or 3 car garage if that helps. The room is not too small for the 4350's (IMHO). There is some debate amongst his audio friends about having the 4350's placed on the narrow part of the room instead of the wide part of the room, but I think they are great where they are. With the right music they provide a great listening experience, but they are not a "detailed" speaker. Plus they look cool.

@@vintageaudioreview so there is plenty of space, looks smaller on video :) can You tell me more what You mean they are not a "detailed" speaker ?

@@masterdimmuborgir Compared to speakers like the Wilson Watt3/Puppy 2's that I listen to a lot, or Martin Logan CLX's, they are high end tones do not sound as distinct. It does not mean that they bad at all. With certain kinds of music, maybe some jazz with vocals they sound really, really good....

to get them for that cheap is mad they are worth 10x that

Thanks for the comment. The owner specializes- or did before everyone else started looking- in getting great deals. THe funny thing is that it turns out the left speaker was not wired correctly, which I did not find out until a few weeks ago.

The all new Stratton Acoustics Elypsis 1512's are basted off of the JBL 4350's but sounds much much better ! Maybe one of the very best sounding speakers in the world right now !
@vintageaudioreview Жыл бұрын
I am sure that the Strattons sound really good, and looking at them, they are kinda like the 4350's. They are very pricey as well. But they are not the iconic 4350, and part of the hobby- at least for some of us- is owning that great vintage piece of gear. Thanks for taking the time to share about the Strattons- I had never heard of them...
@Ramsaaaa Жыл бұрын
The Strattons look interesting, but sadly, no measurements to speak of. Throwing down 55k british sterling with very little in the way of specs.... I'm not particularly impressed. I guess I'm not the type of buyer they're marketing towards. I'd be interested in giving them a listen, if given the chance. I wonder how many pairs have actually been manufactured and sold.

$1200? what a deal! But still you need a bigger room to let them breath….
@vintageaudioreview Жыл бұрын
Thanks for taking the time to comment! I probably should ask Richard how much he spent getting them restored- probably not a lot knowing him. I think the room they are in, which is a converted 2 or 3 car garage- I think it is a decent space for them to breather;however, a few of his other "audio buddies" think they should be moved so they would be on the narrow side of the room, which would put you further away from them...
@Ramsaaaa Жыл бұрын
@@vintageaudioreview given the driver spacing, I imagine it'd help with driver integration. Seen many in small Japanese living rooms, however. I bet they sound fantastic regardless. One of my favorites from JBL. Just plain over the top. I can imagine the engineers grinning and thinkin', "yep, time we made some massive speakers." I've always loved the look of them.
@vintageaudioreview Жыл бұрын
@@Ramsaaaa Thanks for the comment. I get to listen to them now and then when I go to the owner's. Not the most detailed speakers, but with the right music, a very enjoyable listen.!

Czy ja dobrze usłyszałem za 200$ dwie pary kolumn wartych nie wiadomo ile. Marzenie. Szkoda ze nie było demonstracji dźwięku .
@vintageaudioreview11 ай бұрын
He paid $1200 for the pair, but they needed some work. I don't ever play gear to demonstrate how it sounds since there is no way I can recreate that in someone's listening space. I will occasionally play music to demonstrate how something works. Thanks for the question & I hope Google translate did a good job in translating your question.

@@bolsesolheim7469 Indeed. What is interesting is that they taped and labeled all the wires when they were working on it. There was also a problem with one of the active crossover xlr cables which has been repair- I will get to hear them with everything connected correctly before too long.
