I found your youtube a few weeks ago and Im hooked, the level of love, knowledge, care and technique you put in the dolls is incredible. Your work is truly amazing, seeing the dolls come to live and not only come to live as they were but looking incredibly even better is something I take great pleasure. YOU ARE A MASTER GIRL!

Quick tip for anyone who deals with 1960s Barbies when comes to the shoes. Specifically, the mules never just put them right on their feet. they will split on top 90% of the time. You need to put them in boiling water for for about a min ( they will not melt) and put Barbie‘s feet in boiling water for just a few seconds just enough to soften then place the shoes back on it will reshape the plastic of the shoes, and you don’t have to worry about them splitting, you don’t have to do this every time just the first time.

$50!?!?!?!? That is amazing! I'm waiting to find a good deal like that. So far, I know three collectors that found amazing dolls for a steal. A #3 for $17, a no-bang Francie for $4 and a Brownette for $40. I'm keeping my eyes peeled lol
@disneybarbiegirl6154 ай бұрын
I found my no bangs for 40$! She was in bad shape and was wearing a Joe Namath outfit lol 😂 I got my number 1 for 2,500. Which at the time I thought was overpaying, but now not so much. And I got 3 platinum AG dolls, two bubbles, 4 fashion queens, and 1 midge for 100$ once. I love finding good deals! Unfortunately though, I do think I’ll be selling her. Now she can bless another collector with her new clean smart look!

You are exactly my type of Barbie collector. You stay true to the integrity of the dolls you restore. You take your time. You're knowledgable. You're meticulous. Keep it up, girly! Also, AGs are my absolute favorite vintage Barbies. Still need to add a side part to my collection

Thank you so much! I try to keep the history alive. I try to take the approach of restoration just like an art conservator. Where you try not to add too much if any of yourself and let the original artists work shine! And I think she shines:) it’s all in the details. I’m lucky enough to have worked on so many Barbie’s, and also blessed to have been given skills probably based off my artist background. I’ve always wanted to make art that made people happy, and I think this is an outlet where I can do that! I really appreciate you so much for being here! And also, I never thought I’d have one so I’m sure yours is just around the corner!

Who else would we have thought of as the quintessential American girl back then other than Doris Day? When using the glueless method of rerooting, if you use a rooting needle that's too big, it makes a hole that's large enough to allow the hair to pull back out when you brush it. I've seen some dolls that have been done with needles so large it actually created a tear line like between sheets of paper towel. The needles made for full sized baby dolls do NOT work on Barbies!! I got my first Barbie in 64 and as a collector, love your videos.

I went to a doll show today. I did get a late 90s early 2000s Barbie and her hair was in a ponytail for who knows how long. I washed her. I conditioned her hair. I did the boil wash. She’s still air drying but the bump is still there. Should I do it again? Also her head keeps falling back a little. I remember you doing the super glue technique.

What hair fiber does she have?

Do you find modern saran has the same thickness as vintage? I feel like my vintage girls have this super thick fiber but I mostly work with nylon
@disneybarbiegirl6154 ай бұрын
Yes I do, but what is the real difference is the texture. The modern saran is a lot softer in most cases than vintage saran. But we have to remember, saran as a hair fiber was relatively new and of the highest quality, mainly for durability, when Barbie was new. We can look at saran from the 80s, and it varies. Sometimes it’s waxy, sometimes it’s silky, but in all cases is the same weight and thickness. Vintage Saran, although truthfully I believe it was made of a more corse fiber, is easier to curl. Whereas new Saran has to be heated pretty well and dried before it holds form. Hope that helps!
