During an MMA demonstration gala in Amsterdam (1995) Bas Rutten and Joris Boon surprise and entertain the world.
As a professional fighter, one of his favorite tactics was the liver shot (both punch and kick), and he popularized its use in MMA.Rutten is known for his charisma and has capitalized on his celebrity status since retiring from fighting in 1999. He workes as a color commentator in MMA organization WSOF, and every Friday at IMMA at AX.tv , he has appeared in numerous television shows, movies, and video games. He also coaches MMA and has authored several instructional materials.

it was this that got me into MMA, they used to show this stuff at like 2am on Eurosport in the UK. was only 14 back then, thought it was great to see someone not take it all so serious, that lead me to look into Bas, which got me into Pancrase, and later got a VHS copy of UFC 2 in like 97. (though UK ones were cut) been a life long MMA and Bas Ruten fan ever since

Bas Rutten is the best, hands down the best.. Can kick your ass plus can make you laugh.. I wouldnt want to be on Bas ruff side but damn i would love to be on his good side.. Great upload once again.. God bless!

Something tells me Bas isn't sold on the more traditional kinds of martial arts. I can't see why. They are clearly very effective. Breaking a board 10 feet away, sitting and with his back turned. Some next level shit right there.
