Looking for things to do during this Covid 19 mandatory stay at home. Last year I acquired an old hatchet. So I thought I'd give it a new life.

Great job. I like the fact that you kept it original and didn’t ruin the patina by polishing to a shine. It looks better your way!

Confirm, I've restored Plumb wooden handled tools and that's definitely what they used, pre- Perma Bond. Also you can use sawdust and wood glue to fill small cracks and gaps.

Good video! I just picked up an old Plumb scout axe yesterday. The head needs to be rehung and I also want to reuse the existing handle. This video will be very helpful. One bit of advice, if you remove the "shelf" that the head made on the handle, it will be more secure.

I thought of that, but I thought the dowels would be more ridged.

Great job refurbishing the B.S. hatchet. I have a original B.S. hatchet myself and never realize how much involved into it. Thanks for sharing! Bosky Outdoors just got a NEW subscriber ( I DIG IT )If you would visit my new channel and do the same, thanks again and stay safe.
