|Lovely to see the light of enthusiasm still burning brightly, miss my '51 R-type Bentley, but there's something to be said for a modern car- '61 mk2 3.8 jag is my current runner. Cheers.

My mum was a schoolfriend of Cecil Kimber's daughter Jean at Oxford and knew the family very well. They stayed in touch until Jean passed away. My dad was also an MG man, having had an M Type Midget (which took a dive off a bridge, apparently) and a 1938 SA Two Litre saloon. I owned two, but not traditional cars - a ZT 160 turbo and a ZT 190 both from this century!

A proper enthusiast with a nice collection that are " on the button " Can someone explain why it is that Canadian and North Americans have a preference for whitewall tyres ? I had them once on a mk7 Jaguar and they needed regular scrubbing to keep clean

Thanks for watching. I don't know why there is a difference between NA and the UK re tyres. We must have figured it out because they seemed to fade away after the sixties.

That was a great story about a true car enthusiast. Thanks for making this video! That Silver ghost engine...I'm counting maybe 12 spark plugs, but I only see 6 distributor wires. Is that an inline 6 with 2 plugs/cylinder or what? Would love to meet a guy like Colin some day!

He mentions that there are two plugs per cylinder. Pretty cool! Thanks for watching and for your comment!

The Silver Ghost's second distributor and its six wires for the second set of plugs appear to be on the left hand side of the engine. What connections Mr Fitzgerald has developed over his working/collecting life to be able to buy the very first TA (among his other purchases)!
