That interest to see the different types and makes of chisels they are. For me I like the old chisels and just sharpen it as I go along. Love the video.

Old tools were made with pride by craftsmen for craftsmen. Now they are mass produced to the cheapest wholesale price, with little care Quantity Control. Chinese made items are a great example of how things have worsened . Your work in bringing back to useful life a well made old item is an inspiration.

A very beautiful restoration! I do love to see old tools restored for using again. Just be carful about dropping it if you have a concrete floor. I dropped a chisel recently and of course it landed point down, luckily I'd recently put a lino offcut in front of my bench... disaster averted! :)

Amazing result. I could watch you do that all day. I've heard good things about Sheffield steel tools. Thanks for sharing it.

That’s a very good looking chisel to add to the ever expanding collection. Also very pleased that every blade in the kitchen is now battle ready / handle with extreme caution status thanks to the Tormek machine. [Mrs Cottack]

A very nice restoration job there Bruce and great to see that Toffee is still keeping up with the QC job. I do like to see old tools being given a new lease of life and that one seems like a welcome addition to your workshop. Fortunately, older tools were often quite well made with good steel, unlike some of today's tools, and therefore will last a lifetime and more when looked after/restored. Thanks for the video.

Oh man, a Tormek! I’ve always wanted one, but they are so expensive!

They are, I’ve been wanting something like this for four years and when the 50th anniversary edition came out I waited too long to jump …and it sold out! Very happy with this one but do need to get a return on the investment so am sharpening everything I can think of!

I was lucky enough to find a 2nd hand Tormek at a very good price, I spent weeks resharpening every blade, including so many restored tools where I'd been pressed for time and settled for 'sharp enough for now' (but it really wasn't sharp enough!). My results are noticeably better since, but more noticeable is that every job just feels more in control and enjoyable.
