Hello Quilty friends...thanks for being here:)
In this episode I show you how I make my 10" Vintage Delight Quilt Block which is block one in the Riley Blake Designs 2024 Block Challenge.
I'm sharing with you one of my very favorite things to do when making quilt blocks...making two different sized blocks and also
choosing different color placement within the two blocks.
I show just how simple it is to get the same block with an easy method!!
For this year's Riley Blake Designs Block Challenge I'm using Mercantile fabric for all 16 of the free challenge Blocks.
I hope that you enjoy this tutorial and thank you for visiting with me in my sewing room:)

What I love most about Lori’s tutorials is if it’s yr 1st viewing or yr 100th she still explains the basics regarding pressing, measuring & trimming every time. I for one need these reminders… Thank you so much 😉

Hi, again! I already left comment, but I was just working on squaring up some blocks, and I must say that your rulers are the BEST! No more slipping-and the edges of the block secure the edges, so no wonky corners! I’m also loving them for cutting blocks for my 365 Day quilt. The thin lines ensure that my pieces are cut accurately. I’m so glad that I splurged and I bought the 2 1/2” to 6 1/2” set! Thanks again, Lori! ❤️

Lori, I LOVE all of your fabrics. You could say I am a “curator” of Lori Holt. I have yet to break open any fat quarter bundles or layer cakes or even sew simple shapes and patterns and use them. lol. I am DETERMINED to finally use your fabric on this block challenge. But I am curious…. I love the 20” block option on block 1, will you be offering a 20”version of all following blocks. Again… I absolutely love all of your fabrics and patterns. I am a faithful watcher of your KZbin videos. Keep up the good work!

Hi, Lori! Wow! What a great tips re the corner units. 😮 I’ll definitely be using that method in the future! Curious? I would have typically sewn with the red square on the bottom, so I could hit that seam. I’m sure they will come in handy when completing some of the blocks for Kathryn Kerr’s 365 Day Challenge quilt this year. So many 3” and 6” blocks! I recently bought a set of Trim It rulers. Love them. Squaring up is one of my favourite parts of the quilting process. Thank you, and stay Well! Muskoka ON 🇨🇦

you could just do the cutting straight from their website by just looking at the screen at the same time...its a good option if you don't have a printer. A lot of free patterns are not even formatted as printable but you just write down the measurements that are given. Hope this helps!

But the crummy part is you didn't give us anything but how to sew the pieces together. Not the sizes or anything. I have a pattern from when I was little in a booklet on how to do this block, but they use templates for every piece. And everyone has a different name for this. I am a advance beginner, so I don't know how to do the sizing myself. Whole point I even clicked on the video. I love vintage. So I love the fabric and I love the block. Someday I will have money to try one of these BOTM things.
