I really love this series Tay, it's a great idea! At the same time every time the video finished, I feel so sad to all this old and traditional things will disappear one day because the new generation aren't interested. Here in Italy we have the same problem with some artisan work that require patience and hard work to learn.. people nowadays always run and lost interest in the small handmade and precious things :(
@Kaybye555
@Kaybye555 3 жыл бұрын
I agree. I'm from Mexico. I would like to shop that more but it is honestky super expensivr and wages are low. I believe that's more of a reason than the lack of interest. People who buy handmade are usually people with money

Seeing all of these shops, crafts, and specialties pass away makes watching these videos bittersweet. I sometimes wish I could be all things and offer help to everyone, but these things have made it this far because the people behind them made them their one and only mission. At the same time, it feels kind of precious to know that you were alive during the short time in history that some of these businesses were around, doesn't it? Love that these videos are offering a little historic preservation in the great big sea of KZbin.

Documenting the world as they are today is so important to preserve memories into the future! One of the most famous examples I know is a guy decided to mount an early film camera to an automobile and slowly drive it down market street, from one end to the other, in San Francisco sometime within the week BEFORE the big earthquake hit. Because of this, he preserved a record of the appearance of the city, basically it's gold rush/Victorian phase, forever on film for people in the future to enjoy. Even if things change, documenting them now helps us be able to share and pass down memories through the ages!

Loving all the new series!! Every single outfit was FANTASTIC too, wish I could wear them all. I love that you’re getting deep down into the culture and showing us things we might not normally see- giving me Anthony Bourdain vibes 😆♥️ keep it up!

I really loved this video, I don't actually know much about Hong Kong and this video was really interesting! My favorite was the glasses shop and the lady's story haha

I started crying at the olives part. Her husbands legacy is so cool and its wonderful how she is keeping it alive. Unfortunately I didn't know about her or see her on my trip to Hong Kong but hopefully when this pandemic dies down ill be able to come across her on my next trip. These videos are fantastic Taylor! You've gotten so good at storytelling, In a way you'll be preserving these people and traditions will never disappear because they'll be preserved in your videos. p.s. The glasses lady was everything. Yes aunty you do what you want with your money! A born businesswoman

Love this 💗 obsessed with that baby doll dress look (or any of them honestly). I feel like I just travelled to Hong Kong 🥲💗 (also realized I now need a colourful sock collection…)

i love the vintage aesthetic, thank you for making this video! my favourites are probably: 2 - the basket is the best part of the outfit 3 - the hip drape, the scarf, love it 5 - simple yet OH SO classy, the ribbon on the hat made it that much better 6 - man the flared denim, the round chunky platform, the frills on the top, i got major beatles vibes

I have the same white beaded bag, it belonged to my Grandma! It’s not in the best shape, but it still has her things inside. ❤️

Stunning concept that had me engaged from the first second. You celebrated so many special people, and shone yourself, with all the love and style that just exude from you. Deeply grateful for your planning, effort and inspiration.

I love this video! Thank you so much for highlighting all these local shops. My family still lives in Hong Kong and I visit them one a year and I always felt HK was changing so fast and so many local places have been disappearing but watching this, it filled me with joy to see that there are still some very unique places left standing! Must go visit some of them the next time I am back!
