In "Goodbye Mr. Chips" she was every young man's dream. There has never been an equal to this quality lady. The best thing ever imported to the US from Britain.

Random Harvest with Greer Garson and Ronald Colman is not only a great story, it is a pleasure listening to two of the most beautiful voices of the time.

I was going to post this too. Such a moving picture, and a story where dreams come true.
My favorite actress of all time. Class, beauty, humility a gem 💎

Had the motherhood that Garbo lacked, The propriety that Crawford lacked, The acting skills that Shearer lacked, And better diction than all three... I love this description!
@msinvincible20004 жыл бұрын
@Sunshiny day in April Joan Crawford was notorious for being badly behaved, a terrible shrew. And Norma Shearer's talent was nothing compared to Garson

SHE WAS 81 HERE AND STILL SHARP AS A TAC AND STILL BEAUTIFUL.....

She was incredibly beautiful wasn't she? I was surprised to read a comment, from another portion of this interview, about what an amazing memory this elderly person had. I thought how strange a word to describe her, elderly is not even one of the descriptive words that came to my mind while watching this.

She was 77 here ( not 81 )
@migue47936 жыл бұрын
Aryeh Finklestein she was 81! She was born in 1904 not 1908. Many actresses falsified their birth years back then for the studios because of ageism. After her death her records revealed she was born in 1904.

Thanks for the more accurate info. A classy lady all the way.

Aryeh Finklestein she was very classy, something today's actors and actresses lack! I just love old Hollywood films and always research the stars when I see a film I like. Today TCM showed Misbehaving Julia and Liz Taylor was so beautiful like Greer. Wow!

Incredibly beautiful, her spirit her voice, her person. I could have watched and listened to her reminisce for hours. Wouldn't you have loved to see Ronald Coleman calling a square dance at her ranch? What images that conjured up for me. Delightful interview, thanks for posting these.

Greer Garson is the kind of person I would like to have as an intimate friend and next-door neighbor. She will always be, for me, the perfect ideal of loveliness, decorum and good sense.

Greer Garson was selected as the profile of the "woman holding the torch" in all of the Columbia Pictures.
@robbbie859 жыл бұрын
Gloria Hanes what is your source on this? Columbia pictures were using the "woman holding the torch" logo as early as 1929 I believe and Greer didn't come to Hollywood until 1939.

During the filming of Mrs. Miniver, Greer Garson was having an off camera affair with her much younger co-star who played her son. This did not go down well with MGM, and they did everything to try and keep this secret. She was indeed a beautiful woman.
