I bought guitars like this and fixed them up, traded couple for a beat up PRS, then traded the PRS for a brand new player strat. Keep doing this and you could end up with something nice!

Kinda makes me think of my first guitar. Mines a crescent strat that I got for 30 bucks at a local pawn shop. It's not perfect but it's worked well and I love it.

Wh do ya shim? I know why it’s done in general, but why do you personally do it?

Just depends on the guitar, saddles on the bridge on this guitar were all the way down, and the action was still very high. The only way to get the action lower at that point is to shim the neck away from the body. But some guitars may not need a shim or might need a shim in the opposite direction, just depends. This was the first time I’ve ever needed to do it

That's a sweet guitar though, I have a harmony acoustic guitar that I could only play with a slide it's so bad, and I have a old old banjo and mandolin both were like 100 dollars and the mandolin alright but the banjo isn't, very vintage instruments though

Bro!! I have that exact same model Harmony Strat. I got mine from a yard sell one weekend, 20$ I didn't know it was anything special or not, it was missing the pick ups and picgaurd. And tuners. So I bought upgrades😊and it's a nice guitar! I put those single coil size humbuckers in it by Dimarzio (the blade pickups) Man, it rocks!!
