Too cute! I am surprised by how much brushing you do. I guess I'll have to try it on my own to see how resilient the curls actually are. I have watched all of your Marilyn-type do videos and I really enjoy your presentation. You are adorable and obviously a smart cookie. Thanks for sharing!

Love it. I've been meaning to get that size iron, I have a 1" and a 1/5" and I'm always wanting a curl that's in between.

This came out so lovely! I am garbage at doing my hair (straight, thin and long-ish). I just do the look I remember my grandma doin for years, I just make mine taller.

Great video! Thank you! I wish there was a pincurl meet up group where we could all get together and do curls together for motivation! My hair is long and I never have the will to sit down and pincurl it!! Need moral support! 😅

I am so pleased to see curls coming back. Long, straight, and often stringy hair is not particularly attractive, especially on women over 40. We retro ladies took the time necessary to style our hair and we were just as busy as women are today.

Do you prefer a wet set or curling iron? Im trying to figure out what to do with my hair for graduation
@LizVonVillas2 жыл бұрын
The different techniques produce different results. It depends what you’re looking for! Wet-sets will last longer and are typically tighter than heat sets. I would probably do a fresh wetset two days before your graduation and then you’ll have that glorious second day set on the day of your graduation! Congratulations! 🎉

I’m still getting the hang of pin curling, it’s difficult!! I have been experimenting with different ways to curl my hair like Marilyn’s the past few days, I have tried a curling wand but that made my hair too hot to handle to catch the curl and also made the look choppy looking as it doesn’t curl the end of the hair very well. A large curling iron was easier but gave me little curl as the barrel was too big. I have a curling iron the size of the one you are using, I need to try it. So my questions are, what temp do you keep your iron at so you can hold the curl without burning your hand as you roll and how long does this whole process take you? Thanks!!
@LizVonVillas3 жыл бұрын
I keep mine at about 390-400... I sort of tilt my head and catch it with my palm vs my fingers. That second is usually enough to cool it down so I can handle it! And if I’m not distracted, I’d say I can do it in about 45 minutes including brush and tease. I have a lot of hair but it’s pretty short which is quicker. When it was long it took forever!

I cannot seem to get the hang of releasing from the curler and pinning it up nicely - my hair just seems to want to spring around in every which direction. Any tips for getting those lovely round rolls?
@LizVonVillas5 ай бұрын
You can re-wrap your curl around your fingers and then clip it if needed!

The hairspray doesnt cause your hair to fry?
@LizVonVillas7 ай бұрын
Nope! I wouldn’t recommend trying it with damaged hair though. Or, use a lower heat setting. Also, not doing this daily. But with hair at this length it doesn’t get damaged too easily and it is cut pretty regularly.
@theoryofpersonality142011 ай бұрын
My hair is naturally curly but completely untamed. It curls fine but if I brush it like that it doesn't look like this. I wish I knew how to finish it having curly hair. 😔
@LizVonVillas11 ай бұрын
I think the way to get a similar result with curly hair involves straightening it before curling it. I wouldn’t recommend doing it often because you may get heat damage. I would recommend trying a wet set! I have a couple of videos about wet sets if you’re interested. Let me know if that helps!
