She rocks with womanhood and determination! She and Beyoncé both fearless creators in their time. One in a troubled time another in a time of lost identity. I miss the time when blacks were people and not a shell. Power to the people meant "express yourself" not "be easily offended." A time when blacks didn't care what others thought of them. Like all Americans, blacks simply wanted to be equally free!

Ike was not a good public speaker. It was so hard for him to articulate his ideas... Tina covered for him so much... And when she got out of that abusive relationship, the truth of who MADE the group came out. Tina was the star, not him.... She brought his work to life and when she left, the life went with her LOL
@luciverdad48346 жыл бұрын
Monice Sharde Ike was a talented musician and already an established musician before he met her. Tina had to struggle for years before her comeback. Ike was his own worst enemy but he made a comeback winning a Grammy the year he died in 2007. Tina was a nursing aide before joining Ike's band. He can't take credit for Tina's natural talent but he gave her a platform to shine. They both benefited from each other to get out of St Louis. They created a musical legacy together which is why they're inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a duo.

Remember there are 2 sides to every story. Ike was clearly troubled but considering his childhood its surprise he turned out the way he did. One thing I dont understand is that Tina in a later interview stated that she knew Ike had mental health issues before she got with him - but still got with him knowing he had a wife and kids already.
@Antoina137 жыл бұрын
Well let's be clear Ike was not married to the other lady she was his kids mom who he dated but they never got married only person he ever married was Tina and no I don't condone any woman for that matter if he's in a relationship she should have still had hands off but let's not make the lady seem like she was sleeping with a married man cuz clearly that wasn't the case
@saintjay80586 жыл бұрын
Let’s be clear again sis Tina said many times you can’t say no to ike and how he used to beat and make love to her so clearly she probably didn’t plan on having his kids since she was involved with a band member when they first started but can’t argue about the past

Straight up... THOTINA MAE BULLOCK. Ike pulled her and the Sax players baby out of a garage and gave them a life. She was the only girl he was with that he never married. It was a bro and sis act but yeah she was smashin her boss. He also NEVER met her mom. So that scene in the movie was a lie as was most of the film.

I love Tina Turner. And the fact that she suffered years of abuse at the hands of Ike makes me love her more. I don't know why she stayed in that marriage as long as she did...but I guess that's music and show business for ya. The music and show business way: "Give the fans what they want". For sure back then. Tina broke that way when she left Ike and went public with what he did to her all those years. And that's what I really love about her. That's what made her different from many others in the music/show buis industry. She not only gave the fans fans what we wanted, she gave them what they NEEDED. And I'm sure she helped save other women who were in her situation. I think a lot of women started leaving their abusive husbands after Tina divorced Ike. And for that, I thank her. She broke the cycle of giving the fans what they wanted and started giving them what they NEEDED...when she left Ike...in 1978. Yes, sir. She did that that day😁👍👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏.
