Greetings from a Tiny Island in Maine, USA A beautiful bunch of knives. On the 3 pack you found, I believe I have that same Camillus folder w/ the old style can opener and other tools. Mine has a USA shield on one side and from the research I did, I believe that they were issued to soldiers during WW 2. It was my father in laws, he was a Marine and he landed on Okinawa back in the day. A great man, I was fortunate to have a very good relationship with him. He was kind enough to gift it to me in excellent condition. I subbed and look forward to seeing more of your work.

Some very awesome finds, Dwayne! I don't think I have seen a linemans knife with a shield like that. Great looking early 110 as well. Awesome find, especially with the case. It's in good hands. Have a great evening.

That skinning knife, is a copy of the Green River Skinning knife, with one difference. The Ontario version is made from thicker stock. The Green River version was thinner stock so could flex a bit. So it was easier to work into tight paces. Green River knives where have been made since 1834, and are still made to this day, in the US.

Yes sir. Thanks for sharing. Can’t beat the old Russell skinner’s. The - Early imported Sheffield I.Wilson’ trade skinners and several other early American Cutlery companies produced them. But Green River’ was likely the first to produce them here. Most agree The thinner blades are better for skinning . I would agree

That’s what I call a worthwhile trip! I have a hawk identical to the Pacific but mine was for Tenk hardware probably made by Ulster in single digits 1900. I will be buying every Old Hickory I see at the right price.

Great finds! Knife shop I grew up going to was owned by a Vietnam Veteran. He had a 8 in. stag handle switchblade in a case, in a case. He said that blade saved his life and took more lives in Nam than his gun. He wouldn't sell that knife for thousands of dollars.

hey Patriot, new subscribe here! I was told those "tooling marks" are because they are old saw mill blades they started using for stock. Anyone else ever hear that?

Thanks for sharing. Not that I can recall . Ontario was fledgling cutlery in the very early days so that’s a possibility. I read on several sites that the early knives were hand forged. I have seen other later butcher knives with those same lateral marks- Chicago cutlery and few others. That would be a good research!

A lot of miles on that Buck 110. I ordered a small , single blade Buck folder about 3 years ago. It actually nauseated me to see China on the blade. 😠 Fortunately I have two 110s , a 112 several smaller folders an hunting ,fixed blades.. I actually contacted BUCK to express my disappointment.. they said that Walmart had asked them for a boxed set for Christmas gifts. Subcontractors was the only way.
@CuttingEdgetools

Thanks for sharing. I believe Buck at some point decided to offer cheaper knives made overseas/China. I think it’s not necessary. Bucks USA tools are great as ever. Bought my first buck -110 & 112 new back in 1973’.

@@CuttingEdgetoolsI bought my first Buck, a 105 Pathfinder, while I was stationed in West Germany while I was serving in the US Army in 1972. I carried that knife everywhere under my shirt. Last week I sent it to Buck for their SPA treatment. I cherish my Buck knife collection. Have a Blessed Thanksgiving Day!
