The Knight Rider Impossibles Stunt Set commercial was done at Durona Studios. I was working for the studio's publicist at the time and remember writing a press release for the trades about it.

As a kid, I had the voice car and the "Cutoff Challenge" slot car set. Knight Rider and Dukes remain my all-time favorite shows. God, I miss those days now.

I wanna cry every time I see a big-wheel commercial because no one would get mine and now I'm too big. I can't believe how much I remembered this commercial once I saw it again after so long. At least I got the Knight Rider slot car set and then Optimus and his trailer one year. I can always smell that Tyco track and the smell of Prime's trailer. I wish for a do over of that Christmas, maybe some A-team this time.

Christmas 1983 I was disappointed I didn't get my Knight Rider voice car from Santa,turned out Santa couldn't produce enough it was the hottest toy that Christmas,I did however get the Knight Rider crash set and Stomper car and an Ertl die cast black 82 Trans Am replica,if anybody remembers toy cars from Ertl,I got the power cycle and for my 6th birthday I got finally my Knight Rider voice car and played for years until it fell apart.

OMG. Thank you so much for this. I could not help myself. I did go buy on ebay the Vintage 1983 Knight Rider 2000 Talking KITT Car. I am not sure if the voice will work. But who cares. It's going to be a great addition to my collection. I had to buy the Michael Knight action figure on ebay but who cares. They are both from Kenner and for the car. So everything will fit. It's really amazing that after so many years, you still can buy this new online. It's new in the box. Who would think about this? You just did bring me so much joy. It's like going back in time. No plutonium needed! Now probably I will have to buy something from Back from the Future.

2:06 AVGN: "NOOO. IMPOSSIBLE!" My older brother had the voice car. He loved it. He told me how it talked and it was his favorite toy. My mom told me how the neighborhood bully who used to beat him up broke into the porch, where my brother left the car, and took it into the back lane and smashed it to pieces. Unfortunately this happened just before I was born. I'll have to ask her more about that since it was 20 plus years ago she told me.

So did I, granted I was really young when I had it and I had only seen a short scene of Knight Rider so I was not aware of how big of it a show it was until years later I when I watched it in reruns on USA Network. Looking forward to playing with the Knight Rider set for Lego Dimensions soon.

My brother and I both had our own voice cars, because we couldn’t share just one 😂 unfortunately both of our cars ended up breaking at the base of the A pillars. Eventually I took mine apart to find that the voice box was actually a tiny record player underneath the rear trunk area.

I agree as a kid born in the 1980's, I fondly recall all of the great toys I that played with. I had the Knight Rider Big Wheel, although I was only vaguely aware of its connection to the tv show. Only saw parts of two episodes when NBC aired the show, although I did watch the whole run of the show via reruns on USA Network in the 1990's.

I got it for Christmas. Unfortunately it only worked properly for a short while before the contacts on the track or under the cars got corroded or dirty and they would stop or stutter and not move around the track unimpeded

There’s actually a bit of lack of knight rider official products. I myself had the burning key car. The car was plastic all the way around, thru also left off the matchbox official knight 2000 car. I found out I did have one when I found it in bad shape missing nearly all its paint. I must’ve really played the hell out of it. Now years later I have 2 kitt die casts, the hot wheels elite version which I call script accurate, and an earlier version with a normal engine that I call screen accurate. Both are feature rich though and I would have been happy with either one ( but I’m very glad to have both)

Lovely! I still have at home the Darda truck with car and everything, complete and working, like brand new! I'm 44 but sometimes during Xmas vacation I open that box, I build the track and I play for a while. But mine is the italian version... I mean the graphic of the box, the name is "Gran Pista Supercar" (Supercar was the name of Knight Rider in Italy) with the badge of the TV Network that aired the show (and still does), Italia Uno. I would love to share some pics of this box, the track is well known but the box could be something rare today... sadly I can't share pics here lol :-)

Here in Brazil, the Glaslite Co. sold a model based on Lamborghini Countach as K.I.T.T. in the 80’s!😒🤣 In time: Knight Rider serie was known here as “Super Máquina” (super machine, in portuguese translation). Don’t me ask why!🤷🏻‍♂️

Unfortunatly there are no german commercial clips. Maybe you didn´t know, but there was also a K.I.T.T. as a friction car-set with a looping and a jump through a "brick" wall ( the brand was called Darda and they still exist ) and a board game of Knight Rider. @@CycolacFan Well, I can only account for the condition of the one I received and you have to remember that mileage is going to vary between the individuals holding the item. It's not like they're being mass produced now, they're rare items, so you could end up with a dud on its last legs, or end up with a hardly used gem. The one I got was in good condition, box was slightly worn, but nothing too major. The car runs awesome. You're making me want to dig it out of that cupboard again now lol 😄

I think I still have one from my childhood, but it was not in this set of commercials. It was a KITT car with rubber capped tires and a rubber nose. It had a T handle that fit in a hole on the roof. The T handle would flick the car across the room and… Well, I guess many parents didn’t like how destructive it could be even with a rubber nose.
