The helmet the Alan Carter figure is wearing looks like the helmet made for the "Planet of the Apes" astronaut figure, except that Alan's helmet is molded in red plastic, while I think the POTA astronaut's was in grey or silver. And they probably used the named "Starmen 1999" because they lost the license to use the name "Space: 1999".
