I had this toy. I remember it was really hard to figure out how it worked, but once i finally found out how to do it, i remember i was able to grab the plans with the velcro glove in one fell swoop. It was a strange toy, especially since Spider-Man can swing on a web without a Supervator. Even the name was strange. But i did have some fun playing it.

I couldn't figure it out as an adult!

I so LOVE this set. I'd love to have one...

The white fin on the Supervator should be in the front as opposed to the back. When the white fin hits the hideout, it releases. This causes the Supervator to do a 180 degree turn. The superhero now faces away from the hideout. You then drop your hand below the hideout so the superhero escapes back to you.

thanks yeah, I figured that out long after I did the video sadly.

You were doing it wrong. He was supposed to fly backwards, when the white piece strikes the unit, the figure spins around and the glove would grab the card. It works, I know because I had one as a kid.

well consarnit! I wish i had read the instructions better.

yeah when it hits it makes the harness spin and the glove slaps the card. I was suprised you couldn't get this to work. I don't rememebr any problems with it.

Correct..the white triangle hits the plate and then Spidey rotates counter clockwise..

It was worth watching that one, if only to watch you try about use the darn thing. Lol! Who'd have thought that 40-year-old glue would stop working? Lol! No, I never had one of these. I did have the Batmobile and Batcave, so I wasn't completely deprived as a little kid. Thank you for sharing Ms. Jackson. ;-)

I had the Joker figure, never got the others. Somehow the pelvis section got broken and lost, but the figure held together cause it was totally covered with the bodysuit, which helped keep it together somehow. I also had the Batman figure, the one on the right . . .

Lol... I had this thing... I forgot about it honestly, as a rotton 10 yr old, it didn't take long to break it. I remember dad getting it for me from kiddie city, only because it was on sale. If I had only known the investment my dad was making... Great memory, thanks again for all your work...

I bought a Supervator with the original box on Ebay a couple of years ago, It's incomplete., but it does have the Green Goblin card. It displays nicely with Spider-man, Green Goblin, and the Spider-car.

It’s hard to imagine an action figure line without villains.
@BrickMantooth5 жыл бұрын
Yeah but until the WGSH I didn't have a bad guy ever.
@RogueTwo5 жыл бұрын
I know, it seems like such common sense now. If you didn't have a villain to fight, what we're you supposed to do with an action figure? Especially one based on comics and cartoons where all the hero did was battle the bad guys? But I guess that the belief was that if a little kid was told that he could only have one new toy, he was going I pick another good guy rather then a villain.
@TheAstrojoe624 жыл бұрын
GI Joe arguably didn’t include a genuine bad guy until the late run Intruders. Captain Action had Dr Evil but he didn’t have any costume sets to correlate with Caps hero costumes. It was just conventional wisdom until Mego and Big Jim broke the paradigm. Still I’d bet the heroes still outsold the villains even then.

I wonder how many action figures got broken playing with One of these? Things were really rough for you older generation for video games this looks like it would have been even for kids fax and inner team for all of 10 min.
@BrickMantooth4 жыл бұрын
Yeah I think i would have played with this like once.

Never saw that one in the UK. Even by the standards of the seventies it looks a bit naff.
@WildSide_Est20244 жыл бұрын
It blows my mind that it wasn't standard to include bad guys in toy lines till the mid 70s. Like, how did you even play?
@BrickMantooth4 жыл бұрын
We take that for granted now and honestly, I barely remember.
