Racing my '72 750 Norton Commando at VRRA Mosport Vintage Festival 2012 to 3rd in the Period 2 Heavyweight Class, Middleweight Production bikes were on the grid as well. Appearances by Jeff Peters- Honda CR750, Ryan Hunt- Yamaha RD 420, Peter Hurst- Rickman Triumph Triple and Brent Waller on his 'built' Honda CB550.

Nice Norton! Liked the last lap when the Norton was neck and neck with the Honda, I can almost feel the power strokes and adrenaline pumping when the Norton was hitting the gears! Lol sweet race I must say!

Fast guy Jeff on the CR750 had to start from pit lane because he forgot his transponder which is why he took until lap 5 to catch up. There are only two race lines on tracks with concrete strips- inside or outside the concrete; fast guy Ryan Hunt likes wide lines and found some smooth track on the outside of the concrete- he was making it work. My front facing camera was vibrating against the windscreen a bit- I will have to move that mount a bit.

The CR750 is interesting. We've only ever had one here in Oz. The Triumph trident based racer was faster. The recent CB750s we have in our historic racers are all 760s AMA type racers, never a CR750 replica.

What do these blokes do - stooge around, then go for it on the last lap ? There seemed to be a lot running wide in corners. Great video, pity about the shake. Hope you do more.

The title of the video gave most of us the vital clue, they are VINTAGE Racers, they develop power differently, have no-where as much grip as modern machines, have 60's-70's frames / brakes , and the riders don't have death wishes.Impressive and clearly brutal acceleration out of corners from the Norton.Pity about the shake ?? have you ever ridden a single or twin cylinder motorcycle ??

I find your racing extremely interesting. I've noticed that you seem to get on the gas out of turns a bit later than I would, but looking at a video can be a bit deceptive. You've probably seen my comments on the Norton forum about the bike self-steering. It is quite unusual when you use it intentionally.
