After almost three years it is time to revisit my video archive of vintage railroad crossing signals in Poland :)
Railroad crossing on Miernicza street in Leszno was a gateless automatic crossing (category C) equipped with COB-63A automatic crossing system and two vintage, single-light signals made by polish ZWUS factory. Older signal, made in 1967, was the type HZ-10, based on 1930's designs of swedish Ericsson company. Newer signal, type EHZ-13, was of original polish design and made most likely in 1970s or 1980s. Railroad crossing was also equipped with two KLD-40 mechanical bells, both of which worked quite nicely.
Due to modernization of the E-59 railway between Wrocław and Poznań, railroad crossing on Miernicza street in Leszno was permanently closed for traffic in may, 2018. Signalling devices remained operational for a few more months until they were finally removed early in spring of 2019.
Scenes in the video were captured on 26th July 2016 (first two trains) and 29th April 2018.
Music used at the beginning of the video: Late Night Train - Vans in Japan
