I love fishing with my vintage gear. I like to think it gives me the the same feeling that a car collector might have when he drives one of his vintage cars around in public.😊

I have a Regent Intrepid and large hesvy Surfcast by K P Morritts. I agree that the handles on these reels are incredible but I can’t go along with you about how these reels compare to Mitchells. I own nearly 60 saltwater Mitchells Spinning reels and love all of them! I also own over 60 vintage Daiwa spinning reels. I started by collecting all the silver series Daiwa spinners and own 23 of them. Recently I have started collecting the gold series Daiwa spinning reels. I nave 5 of them so far. The nicest one I have is a huge GS-9 that is very much like a 9000C but better. I’ve collected 26 vintage Shakespeares spinners too. I have six Zebco Cardinal reels from Sweden - 3 size 6 and 3 size 7 saltwater reels. They are incredible reels. I hope you’ll continue to share your collection on KZbin. As you can see I only collect spinning reels and have over 280 in my collection. I absolutely agree with you with what you said about the durability and longevity of these vintage reels. They are the only reels I own and use. I have little use for modern reels that won’t last 5 years! Thank you for sharing this video. - Chris

The main problem with spinning reels is that how many anglers , wash them , then give them a rub with an oily rag , after a fishing trip, and keep them in a dry place , Many reels suffer from salt attack on parts damaged by knocks or scrapes , the Mitchells suffer from blistering but this may take 15 - 20 years , like all things if you look after them they will last and you will enjoy their performance .
