Ive watched a few channels play this game and this one is by far the most tolerable, it looks to be an incredible game, and you actuallh walking us through what you know instead of talking random nonsense while you play, and also the fact its not 1 to 8 hours long, is very nice. I went as far as bronze in my first playthrough as well and I can't wait to pick it up again sometime soon. I find it to be a great game, and a refreshing difference from the other block game!

This is amazing game. I'm glad that more people are taking interest in it. You should keep an eye out on odd, round indentations on ground that seems to be out of place. Especially if you find suevite stones around it. That's a meteoric iron deposit. You can sometimes also find pieces of meteoric iron around the location. You need really good pickaxe to mine it, iron one I think. Not all round spots have visible marks of a meteor so you need to dig into it to see if there is metal in there. Jonas parts are something of an end game thing, so that's not something to concerned about.
@dannyrothko4 ай бұрын
Ooh interesting, so was the spot I found a meteoric deposit? Or just a regular one? Thank you for the info!
@MorfsPrower4 ай бұрын
When I found my first meteoric iron deposit, I actually found a giant dark ruin which had a giant hole bored through its walls towards a suevite crater. It looked so fantastic, and I climbed the ruins to find lore about someone toying around with the situation. It was really fantastic finding all that. I don't know if it was a mod or vanilla, but I loved finding such a cool ruin and a useful pretty metal.
@theonlysinisharm4 ай бұрын
This was a great watch. Your commentary is informative and engaging, and we do need more people covering vintage story. Also, that iron ore find is so lucky it's genuinely ridiculous lol If I may give you advice, you can click and drag a stack of items over a series of slots to divide the items among them, which can speed up crafting items such as the hand baskets. Right clicking can split them in half, and right-click dragging after picking them up will place a single item wherever you drag, which is handy for sorting out high volume items later on, like stones.

Thank you for watching! I love this game and definitely want to do more with it. And yeah the iron ore was amazing haha. Thank you for the tip! That will definitely be useful.

Very nice start! One quick tip - you can always hover over something in your inventory and hit "h" to bring up the specific guidebook entry for that item. Useful anytime you come across something that you're not sure what to do with. And since those raw hides will rot, you might consider using some of your fat to turn them into pelts, which you can use to make hunter's backpacks, which will increase your inventory space a bit - always a struggle in early game!
@dannyrothko4 ай бұрын
Oh that is nice to know, thank you! I definitely want to oil some hides to get some fur clothes ready for winter, and those hunter backpacks sound tempting as well.

I've just gotten the game after watching very few videos on it. It's right up my alley, I play minecraft, and I have played the terrafirmacraft mod in the past and loved it. Since this game is heavily inspired by both those games/mods, but it's much better, I am very much enjoying it so far. I did have trouble finding enough copper nuggets on the ground for a while, I did find a trader where I bought some copper (and some lime because my hides will soon rot and I have not found limestone yet) which I could do because I found 4 rusty gears. But then I heard you say you can pan for copper, so I got a stack of gravel, and after panning through only 20 blocks I had enough copper to make my first pickaxe and hammer, which I've just done. Thanks for the tip! Now on to the next step which is digging for more copper so I can make a saw, to make barrels and doors and all the possibilities that come with that! Oh, and I've survived my first temporal storm (I killed one drifter that was in my house, then locked myself in my 3x3 bedroom and luckily nothing spawned in there. Afterwards I ran outside, and far away so they would despawn. I didn't know I couldn't sleep through the storm on my settings, I found out how to change that, so next time I'll probably sleep through it. I only died once so far, to a bear, I tried running away but it was so much faster than me, luckily I was close to spawn because I had seen a copper bit on the ground there before, and I was looking for that. I got revenge on the bear after I got my stuff back though, made a dirt pillar, threw some spears, waited until it walked away, came down, got my spears, repeat, untill it was dead. But now the 3 huge hides will rot soon, so I need to progress so I can do something with them. For now they've been sitting in a vessel in my cellar together with hare hides from 3 hares that were stupid enough to run into a dead end cave for me to easily get them. I;ve been farming all kinds of crops too, found cabbage seeds in a vessel too, and I've made a watering can. I'm very excited about this game!

Definitely enjoying this, it's getting me geared up for another dive in myself. It's been a long while since I dusted things off. Also, a fun fact for you! Oil lamps even work underwater, so you can use them to make some pretty lights beneath your lake if you manage a surplus. I usually play with near-endless breath timer because I just like the luxury of it after so many games with inflexible drowning limits, so this is a useful trick for finding and marking out ores down there. Also, the clay jars are way better for storing food underground than the baskets are, if I remember right.

I really enjoyed this game for the most part when I played it a couple years back. I really like how they did things where the crafting and processing of materials is a lot more involved than just throwing things in a crafting grid or putting things in a furnace and adding fuel. I also like how there are actual seasons and you have to prepare for winter and can't just farm year round. I stopped enjoying it once I got to a certain state of progression though. It just got too tedious trying to locate specific resources needed for progression that are nearly impossible to find depending on your map seed and/or are only found at mob lairs with crazy powerful mobs you're nowhere near prepared to take on. It's just not fun running around for hours and hours and hours looking for that one thing you need or dying at those creature lairs again and again fruitlessly trying to get that certain thing you need for progression. It feels like the game balance just isn't quite right once you get past a certain point.
