You do very nice work. As the steward of 50 or so of these vintage Geetars, I appreciate your channel. I have large hands so working on the electrics on these hollow bodies can be a challenge. My tip to share with your viewers is use aquarium hose for pulling pots and switches up thru the body. They fit snug over the pot stems and are easier to manipulate than string. Going thru the Pickup cavities allows a tad more room to reach under in certain applications. There should be more channels like this. Every vintage guitar has a story to tell and every restorer has a tip to share.

+57dud57 Great tip! Thanks! Another tip I'll share since we're on the subject of hollowbody repair... 1/4" dowel rods fit shockingly well in 1/4" jacks, so you can insert a dowel into the jack hole in the body and feed it up to the F-hole, where you can put the jack on the dowel and drag it into the hole. Then just feed the washer and nut down the end of the dowel. ;)

+The Guitologist Nice one. Whatever it takes short of growing extra hands and longer fingers works!

I swear that bass is the cousin of the six string I just bought yesterday! They had washers under the neck for a shim. Thanks for the tip on shaving the edge with a chisel. 👍😎🎸🎶

74dart man it looks a lot like my very first guitar as well.... I have NEVER been able to find any info on it as there is no sticker in the body cavity and the head stock simply says "steel reinforced neck"....

DaddyO's Ink ya, I believe from researching that there were a lot of different brands made in the same factory...Silvertone, Harmony, Kawai, etc. They all look real similar. My headstock label is missing too! Just 2 holes where one was and I haven't been able to determine what label went there. I'm almost finished restoring it and can't wait to get some strings in it and hear it for the first time! If you still have yours, it's cool that you kept your first guitar. They're going up in value all the time too!👍😎🎸🎶

I have the very same guitar. I was the first Electric Bass I ever owned. I bought it 1968. I would like to restore mine too and would like to know where to buy replacement parts..such as Logo parts, Ash tray string cover and electronic components and wiring diagrams?. Thanks

What type of wood is used for the body of the Teisco?

How much did you chisell out for the neck approximately. Also whats the best way to check the height afterwards without stringing it back up. I have some shims in the mail, but think maybe cutting it out is my best option. Its a del ray 6 string, same deal. Cheers for the great videos they have helped alot

I see that you are married (wearing a wedding band), How in the world do you get your wife to let you buy (and presumably own) so much old musical crap as well as spend so much time working on it... I would LOVE to do the same thing but my wife gets pissed. If I leave a tube laying around the living room she want sto kill me. If you have a secret please make a video on that... lol

Hehe... It helps to be a beast in the sack and threaten to withhold intercourse if you don't get your way. ...but my real secret is I don't keep it all. I resell after doing the work.
