I had the original furby and it would literally scream in the middle of the night for no reason. My brother also had one and his malfunctioned at around 2am woke the whole house making weird noises etc and we couldn't turn it off and the batteries were screwed in and we couldn't find a screwdriver anywhere, was a total nightmare and they both ended up locked in the garage haha 🤣

I got the original Furby on a family trip to Portugal and it would sing and talk everyone awake in the middle of the night. My dad tried to shut it up by throwing beach towels over it and when that didn’t work it eventually got locked outside on the balcony! 😭

AHH bringing the internet more attention to my furby friends. Custom furbys & long furbys are a separate niche along with the robots themselves. They can be literally anything. Custom ones are referred to as Oddbodys when they take the shape of other things with furby face plates. I have Pokémon ones, one of Appa, the bugslife caterpillar.. etc. Ive taken them to renaissance festivals and got stopped for pictures more than once! They’re really fun and sometimes can be cute, the makers are extremely nice. The one that made the octopus is Plushiecouture! I have bought quite a few from them along side another furb maker that doesn’t sell anymore. If you ever buy from plushiecouture though expect more than just what creature you choose! You’ll get a few others and a lot of other goodies that sometimes include handmade/vintage pieces you don’t usually find. Some of it can be resold but some of it will be little trinkets and keychains etc. Though sometimes you can ask to customize the order if you do like another one too! This is something I wasn’t expecting to see one of my fav KZbinrs to come across but it needs more attention! You can also definitely find more oddbody/ long furbys on mercari too sometimes! (Yadidgood.slick & furbtasrophe are my Instagrams to find them if you’re interested.. I have a lobster furby if anyones interested… lol? Sadturtleemoji on mercari too)

My grandma had a green one that she always had on her shelf and one day she let me have it. I liked playing with it at her house, but it creeped me out when I brought it home and it started talking in the middle of the night. I already had a Barney the dinosaur toy that would do the same thing, his voice would get deep and distorted when the batteries were dying and he would turn on randomly in the middle of the night, so having to hear both of them at the same time like that gave me nightmares lol

My experience with sky dancers was that in the mid-1990's I got mini sky dancers in my easter basket, and the neighbor boy snatched it out of my easter basket, and shot it directly in my face, all while breaking the launcher and the sky dancer both. THANKS JOEY C!

There were a few furby editions between the launch one and today's. I had them all. The one in 05 was just a bigger 1998 furby with new feet and plushier. The 2012 one was GREAT! it came in a Chinese takeout box and had an app where you could feed it and play games. Very very fun and interactive. Then 2013 they redid the 2015 one bc of a glitch which I didn't get bc why waste the money mine was non glitchy. I haven't had this one yet. If it doesn't have an appointment to play with it then it's not as fun imo

I didn't have a light bright, but when I was in kindergarten (around 1990) my class had one, & if you finished your work you could go pick a toy to play with & I was always trying to finish first so I could pick the light bright 😂 it was highly coveted. I also never had a new easy bake oven, but my grandma found one at a garage sale & got it for me. She would never buy the mixes as she felt like they were too expensive (we were on a very limited budget) but she would give me pop tarts & little cups of whatever she was baking to make my own little cakes & cookies in it. Such great memories with the "vintage" toys, as much as it pains me to call the 80s & 90s vintage 😂

the fact you paid over 200$ for the original Furby, but my sister and I both got them for christmas the year they came out and they ended up destroyed... :'D I literally set one of them on FIRE before we moved from that first house. :'D They freaked us out because they never stopped. 28:21 fun fact about lightbulbs, lightbulbs were actually made a lot better so they lasted longer which meant less sales as you don't need to replace them as often.. obviously less money being spent so they actually made lightbulbs less reliable to increase how often you had to replace them, which is probably why all these lightbulbs in those products still worked. I cant remember where I read this information but its always been something that stuck in my brain lol

The first moon shoes you opened were around in the early 90's ...both my kids had them ...also the light bright from the 70's took a 25 watt light bulb and had 2 grids ..one that was attached to the toy itself and one to put on top your paper to keep it in place...and the pegs were slightly different...My brother and I are mid 60's babies and my kids are mid 80's babies

The Furbies from the 90's and early 2000's were scary. Thank God they're adorable now. ....Unless you decide to cut a Furby Connect in half.... Trust me, it's not a good idea. Heh. You really wanna hear what those look like when you murder them, huh? They cry oil. Then blood-colored oil pours out of their mouths. Their eyes are lifeless and terrifying until you somehow mend them back together. That's practically IMPOSSIBLE, though, since they loose their oil... From their mouths and eyes. 😨
