Adam, this Sotheby's auction that's upcoming is going to have some really great watches in it. Unfortunately these watches in the vintage arena are out of my scope of knowledge. I always learn from listening to your videos, but the amount of knowledge you carry is astounding. The Rolex Datejust "Overtone" ref. 6105 caught my eye, as did the Patek "Tasti Tondi" ref. 1463. You did a really great job on this video, thank you😊

Peter, not sure about books as a lot of the info is dated in many of them. Forums and independent sites like drsd, on the dash, 5513 matte dial, etc., are great resources!

They are very similar in construction but not interchangeable of course.

It could have been sold on leather only. But a watch of this caliber, bracelet is somewhat inconsequential. Consider, the bracelet for this watch will cost maybe in the $10k range. So if you are buying this watch, the bracelet is not a major concern.

@@mentawatches Since you follow auctions, the Phillips HK auction was quite a success but the Part I of the Oak at Christie's looked like a disaster. Lots of unsold. Wildly overestimated lots and marquee pieces left unsold by collectors that probably didn't appreciate the bogus Geneva auction of the Passion for Time collection. Rough time for Christie's but I suppose they were not on the hook for a minimum sale with the Oak.
